I would not be surprised if we don't hear anything this weekend. I think more and more will continue to smoke and leak in LSUs direction, but I think Lane's plan/goal is to continue to coach this Ole Miss team into the playoffs.
Not sure what Ole Miss will be able to do to prevent him.

The second he reaches an agreement with LSU or Florida, Ole Miss can legally move on.
The longer he goes without reaching an agreement with LSU or Florida, the more pressure they will be under to move on.
A bit of a catch 22 for everyone involved.

I don't know what the better outcome for LSU or other suitors is really. He's a good coach but paying him like he's Saban isn't reasonable. We're not talking about a guy with championships on his resume. Hell, there's no guarantee a guy who won a championship can be successful with another program.
We're dealing with a hoeflation problem here. Lane, Drink, Tucker, and others aren't worth the asking price

Your statement probably implies LSU doesn't need to overpay for Lane. Which is probably where I am
Identity a young coach with drive and expertise and give him the opportunity. Lane is a great troll but he's not Kirby, Saban, or Urban
