This guy would have to call the whole offense

Not necessarily. Mangus has called plays and they could go back to that same formula if that's what they wanted to do.

I’m excited to see what he can do. I don’t feel bad about it at all. Definitely no guarantees, but lots of potential considering how highly recommended he is. Going old and comfortable failed miserably this year. I say go for it.

Well I think O knows he has to get these two right.
If either the DC or OC bomb how does that affect his status? My opinion is it won't end well.
Patterns are hard to justify, so I wish him the best for LSU's sake.

Peetz was at Alabama 2 different times as a GA pretty recently I think. His name surfaced multiple times for a few different jobs in our last round of assistant hirings - WR coach mostly I think. I remember he was one of those guys that everybody said coaches thought highly of.

They're interviewing him tomorrow. For the first time if i'm not mistaken.

Your title is misleading.

He’s gonna be an oc somewhere very soon.

I’d like it

Coached Derek Carr his Pro Bowl seasons, was about to be the OC in Indy under McDaniels before McDaniels switched up, was blocked from interviewing with Washington/Ron Rivera.

Obviously a well-thought-of young up-and-comer

You gonna make a thread for every interview?

Also, why the SEC Rant and not Coaching Changes board?

Pretty much the consensus on here when Joe Brady was hired

Those offseason threads about Brady & Burrow were an absolute joy to re-read during the season.

Bama mimicked Joe Brady’s offense this year. straight copy cats of LSU last year. When have you ever seen Alabama run a “bunch formation” as much as they did this year. Plus all the inside passes. All they ever did before was slants here, slant there. They made Jones try to be burrow and run burrows offense and it worked.

My only problem with Peetz is that he only spent time in the college ranks as an offensive analyst at Alabama. How much experience does he have recruiting? Would he put in the effort on that end?

Statistically we did it better.

If Saban liked him enough to bring him on staff twice then he must be a pretty good coach.

He should take those out of his playbook. I don't know why anyone would call an interception play.
