Good God! That's a stupid statement.

Bama dropped 2 spots.
LSU is the first 1.000 BCS team in 5yrs, and only the second ever. Given an OT loss, you think LSU would drop further than the 2 spots Bama did?

I agree, if OSU can get back up to #3 in the polls, then it will be close between Alabama and OSU. They would have to be a very strong 3 with some 2nd place votes. They need almost everyone to vote them over Stanford and Va Tech too, which are currently ahead of them (this is assuming Arkansas loses of course).

Lulz. No. And every major website (ESPN, CBS, SI, FoxSports, on and on) in the country disagrees with you right now. Ok St is already #2 in the computers, beating Oklahoma isn't going to give them an advantage they don't already have there. Meanwhile, Alabama has 169 of the 174 second place votes in the two human polls. Basically Alabama is almost as strong a #2 as LSU is a #1. Over half of the voters would have to not only have to change their minds and have Ok St jump Alabama, but any other teams that are still ahead of Ok St (VT and Stanford are the two possibilities). Ain't happening.

Wow, I really think that "some" of you LSU fans believe what you write. Do you all watch the BCS Countdown show or listen to Brad Edwards or do ANYTHING in regards to getting educated in the subject that you speak of?

Sometimes I remember why I am pro-choice.

if OK state beats OU they will likely pick up a little more in the computers (yes, they are already #2 in teh computers but the margins will change slightly in their favor)

They would also be expected to pick up human opinion poll votes and automatically move up with arkansas losing to LSU

I think Bama is more likely than Ok State to make the BCS NCG but if Ok State beats OU it will be close (likely depend on a lot of games played by teams other than Bama and Ok State)

Uhhh... wha? You should either cut your ears off or stop listening to the people you're talking to then. If Bama and LSU both win - both are playing for the BCS NC. Not sure if you're trolling or just retarded.
You're going to be painfully shocked then. Okie State will get in over alabama if they beat OU. They will be ranked higher in the computers(and it wont even be by a close margin) and all they need is some votes from the human voters to get them in. It will happen because most human voters don't want to see an all SEC title game.

Bama needs Okie state to lose. I know i'll be called a retard but hey, it's whatever.

Computers aren't like the human polls where there are percentages taken. In the computers, if you're #2 you're #2 and if you're #3 you're #3. Oklahoma St is already #2, they can't pull away more from Alabama by becoming a "stronger" #2 if they beat OU.

Every expert anywhere disagrees with you. In fact, it seems as though LSU fans are the only ones who think this. I don't know if even Ok St fans believe/hope this as much as LSU fans do.

As an Arkansas fan, i believe what the OP is saying.

Even with a win, I don't think we will move up unless Alabama loses. It sucks but thats just the way the system works.

We as Arkansas fans can bitch and complain that we got screwed all we want, but if we beat Alabama its a whole different ballgame right now.

Oh well, guess we will just wait and see.

you misunderstand the system

it is absolutely not an integral ranking.

LINK

Ok State currently trails Alabama in teh Sagarin and Wolfe. If they pass them in both (which they would if they beat OU and LSU holds serve against Arky) they will gain a larger margin on Alabama in the computer rankings component of the BCS formula

Sigh. I just think some lsu fans don't want to play bama game and you all are reaching for things that could happen to keep bama out.

Per Brad Edwards:
"Alabama has 169 of the 174 second place votes in the two human polls."

I might be inclined to agree with you if Oklahoma hadn't lost Saturday night but that loss killed OSU's chances to climb back up to #2 (unless bama loses). If OSU beats OU, at best, they'll steal what 20 votes? That still would EASILY put bama in over OSU.

You're kidding about Edwards . . . . Right? I mean come on, Edwards is a Bama Homer "analyst" who has just been pathetic with his BCS predictions this season.

OSU won't regain #3 in the human polls,

but . . . .

if they did (say Stanford/VT/Arky/OU lose), and if they were within 75ptsHarris/40ptsCoaches of #2Bama, OSU would very likely move ahead of Bama in the BCS. FWIW.

No, I just thought we'd agreed that OSU would be #2 in all computers if they beat OU. That would give them an extra .4 in the rankings on us (we'd lose .2, they'd gain .2). That would still leave them more than .6 behind Alabama (just using current numbers) that they'd have to make up in the human polls.

Bama will likely be a full spot behind OSU in the computer polls if both teams win out. That means Bama needs to be higher than OSU on 2 out of every 3 ballots. 40 in the Coaches' poll and z7 in the Harris poll would do it.

As for Arky fans, I am really not trying to be a dick or troll, I am simply stating the very likely scenarios. Arky does not control its own destiny at this point in the SEC or the BCS. They desparately need Auburn to win. It is ironic! But Arky should pull for Auburn and Bama should pull for LSU. Remember, this focuses on the November 27th rankings.

Arkansas fans do have one other out that I forgot to mention in the OP. It is conceivable that if Arkansas wins and Bama wins this weekend, and LSU wins in the SECCG, AND OSU loses to OU, Arky could vault ahead of Bama and into the #2 spot in the computers. The win over a 12-1 LSU team will go a long way in the computers, especially if PSU loses out. That may give Arkansas a fighting chance in the final BCS rankings at the #2 spot, meaning Bama could fall from #1 to #3 in a week without playing a game. Not very likely, but there is a better chance of that than there is of Stanford or VT getting in the game.

1.)Brad edwards is a dumbass.
2.)That stat is as of RIGHT NOW.
3.) If Oklahoma State beats OU, those votes will dramtically change.
4.) I will say it for the last time! If Oklahoma beats OU they will get in over Bama.

and im not saying this just because i don't want to play alabama again. frick..I dont give a shite who we play, because im confident we'll win.

Bama fans need to be the biggest OU fans on dec.3!

correct

but if they win and arkansas loses they pick up some of that margin

I think bama would still hold the edge but it will be very close
