It's not nearly the job they claim it to be. Not everybody is crazy about the Louisiana culture either. It's a big job to a coach at a wake forest or nc state. Maybe an Indiana or Okie state. The vandys of the world sure but u never see guys leave power jobs or NFL gigs to go there. LSU could not go get dabo or urban Meyer for example. The few times they pulled a guy from a "power college" He usually couldn't get out fast enough.

We're about to see also the auburn job isn't all that and arkie is a little better job than people say.

I blame it on scheduling. Who wants to end their season with some 3rd tier rent-a-win?

LSU does benefit from a prime area to recruit. I always see them as up there with UA, UGA, UF, And AU As the big programs. As to no NFL coach would go there, well; I don’t see many college programs getting a good NFL coach. I know back in the day LSU poached Bill Arsparger(sp?) from my Dolphins. He was the best NFL DC at the time.
So, there is that. Laugh all you want about Coach O, but give him time to really see what he can do there. He’s one of the best at recruiting, and Saban has proven that you can live off of great recruiting and suspect coaching.
Just my two cents on that topic.

Gonna have to agree with a faggie

Louisiana is easily the worst state in the country for just about everything that matters

their AD shut it down because he had to negotiate and Jimbo had the gall to press for gain.
how is it that people don't know this story?

the deal was done until f. king alexander stepped in and shut it down because the miles buyout and jimbo signing were "bad optics" politically. so this basically ruins your stupid premise along with the fact that lsu has two of the best coordinators in the country.

LSU is an unattractive coaching destination

then why did jimbo try to go to lsu for 2 years? it's not a secret in coaching circles that he was calling assistants to go with him to lsu

You might have lost some credibility here.

Chavis gave up 99 points in 2 games to Ed Orgeron. Hell of a steal for y'all.

Alabama hired the Washington st head coach, their own DL coach, another career assistant, the TCU coach, the Ga Tech coach, and a couple of NFL washouts. You're one to talk. It is very rare for anyone to leave a major program

son, I guess you are forgetting bama's struggles with finding HC's in the past. Dubos, Price, Shula.....ring a bell. Rich Rodriquez turned y'all down. finding a HC is all about timing if you're willing to pay. and LSU is willing to pay.

How quickly Bama fans forget the years before Saban.
Its amazing some of you people still don't understand the truth about the Jimbo courtships by LSU. He didn't turn LSU down in either year. The first was political pressure because of Les' buyout and last year Alleva turned away Jimbo because he wanted the exact same deal he just robbed TAM for. No way we were gonna give him 10 years and Aggie will soon see why

Bryan - College Station is a shithole.

Can’t imagine any place less attractive, unless it’s Tech or UTEP. And even then... it’s debatable.
