not exactly. There are contact rules which LSU circumvented. They did so knowing the kid was looking around. And it isn't like he flipped out of the blue in December. He spent the whole fall visiting other schools. Hell he didn't even enroll early which means LSU broke the rules even if he had signed with LSU.
This isn't about someone changing their mind. It's about LSU using the FAA to be cavalier with the contact rules

I will admit it isn't possible to get Bama in trouble for it. Hell, Slive covered his ears when Fluker admitted it.

So your entire post is what you want to have happened, not what actually happened.

We'll let you talk since he INTENDS to enroll early, but since he hasn't actually signed a LOI, watch yourself.
Why should it be hard for a school to follow the same contact rules in place with recruits who haven't signed a FAA?
It astounds me that nobody can see that FAAs could easily be abused by a school if this rule wasn't in place. In about 30 seconds a LSU fan will respond that I am a dumbass because the FAA binds the school to honor the scholly. Yes it does, but without this rule schools could just go convince several 5 stars not even considering their program at the time to sign one of these just so they could have unlimited contact with them.

Loser of the UA-LSU game this year disbands their program.

Obviously they did. This was self reported right?

I thought the whole point of the FAA deal was the kid was basically signing a LOI early. So at that point both the school and the kid are committed to each other.
What exactly is the point of the FAA at all??
This is an absurd ruling.

After the Luther Davis scandal came to nothing, I am pretty sure Alabama is untouchable.
Congrats.

sure, do you have reading comprehension issues? From the article
quote:
The recruit signed a financial aid agreement with LSU intending to enroll early in January and giving the school umlimited contact with him. But he decided not to enroll at the school. That makes at least some of LSU’s unlimited contact with the prospect illegal.
quote:
A financial aid agreement doesn’t bind the player to that particular school like a National Letter of Intent does, but it affords coaches of that school unlimited contact with the signee — contact that would normally be considered against NCAA rules.
The NCAA modified the financial aid agreement (FAA) in April. It continued to allow schools “relaxed recruiting rules” for prospects who signed a financial aid agreement, but it also warned schools that they could be penalized for recruiting violations if that prospect did not eventually enroll in that school.
The local rag takes a woe is me approach like most LSU fans but the violation is pretty clear cut

Seems like a dumb rule. Basically the NCAA setting up a school to break a rule.
Pretty harsh penalty as well.
