LSU fans seem to think so. I mean, LSU fans keep sayign how they own Georgia and in our last 3 games the record is 2-1. In fairness when they say they own us they only state the 2-0 part....but does a team own another team when they are 2-0 against them?

I think the “owning” perception comes bc UGA’s last win against lsu was by 3. Where as LSU’s wins have been by 20+ points each W…. I don’t know if “owning” should be the word used for Georgia; but dominating could apply.

MAGF is correct that we shouldn’t cherry pick stats….take all the data or none and I agree.

My intention was more to correctly color a series of 32 games total which is not annual and in fact between 3 to 4 times more infrequent than say…….GA/FL. The year you play is consequential. GA is 3-0 vs Notre Dame and 0-2 or 0-3 vs Pitt. The fact that the 2 most recent losses to Pitt include 1976 (Dorsett) and 81 (Marino) is consequential:

But perhaps I give this board too much credit.

The post i replied to inferred that lsu ducks georgia. When we play bama florida and auburn every year no latter what. And I doubt anyone has scheduled half as many big name ooc games in the last 20 years

This is a game that the coaches at UF find a way to lose, even in years that the Gators have the better team. Credit to LSU for finding a way to win.

Yep 2010 and 2014 was straight up craziness on special teams. Frankly poor execution and preparedness

2011, 13, 15, 19...LSU was just the better team. 2015 and 2019 at least were pretty competitive

2020...obviously the shoe incident but Mullen and co did a poor job in general. Same for 2021.

So what’s the honest assessment of Mullen inside the UF athletic department and with the fans? His seat has to be getting warm, yes?

His record against LSU/UGA/Bama has to leave Gators wanting more I would imagine.

Show me a post in which I excluded any years or teams.

Are you getting me confused with Pulpwood Patterson?
So,, I'll ask you again...what years do you find relevant? I mean you thought it interesting when Pulpwood quoted a record from WWII. Which years do YOU find relevant?

Um, you quoted me first.

The shoe toss itself didn't cause LSU to win or Florida to lose. The game was tied at that point.

Sure, it extended the drive but the nail in the coffin for Florida was only getting 3 points out of its last 5 drives against one of the worst defenses in the country.

That and their NFL kicker missing a game tying FG as time expired. After Florida's opening TD and LSU tying the score on the following possession, Florida was losing the majority of the game. They did briefly take the lead by 4 points towards the end of the 3rd quarter but immediately gave up a TD on LSU's next drive. The shoe toss was certainly hilarious and at a horrible time after a third down stop, but I feel like too many people think LSU was losing when that happened.

I what? Copy and paste a quote in which I excluded everybody prior to WWII. I never did that as you claimed. You are getting me confused with someone else.

I could go with saying we have been dominated the last two games. My problem with it is this. When you say owned it typically means the other team cannot win.

When talking LSU and Georgia we play so infrequently it is hard to determine because we can catch each other at times when one team is not as strong. For instance. I would say it's not out of the realm to say Georgia would have won last year and would win this year. We don't play though. We miss LSU when y'all are having a weaker than normal season.
(Although, it could also be argued that we had the better team in 2018 and LSU still beat us....which is why we play the games)

It makes a lot of sense if you can’t understand the importance of the games we kicked your arse in.

You can keep on accepting mediocrity.

FWIW I’m pulling for y’all this year and always have.

Y’all are true dicks for turning on LSU fans.

We’ve always pulled for y’all

Agree… and don’t shoot the messenger when I say this next part; but I think a lot of LSU fans feel like Lsu just has Smart’s number for some reason. And that’s just how the game (any sport actually) goes; certain people and/or teams are just “kryptonite” to some people. You know what I mean? Similar to how in baseball even some of the best hitters of all time have that one pitcher who just has their number that they struggle hitting against. And for some reason it jsut seems like LSU has Smart’s number. ((Bc like you said, we haven’t had to play yall in ‘20 or ‘21. That perception would change if we would’ve had to play those years tho)) But just like Fla, doesn’t it seem like every time we play; y’all end up having a bad game somehow? It doesn’t make sense at all, it can’t be backed up with facts or stats, but it’s just another one of those reasons why the game is played on grass and not on paper…
But yeah, I agree with everything you said and you’re right about how we don’t play each other enough for anyone to use the word “own”. I don’t know why he used “owned” when talking about you guys. Definitely agree with him though abt using it when talking about the gaytors though. We’ve owned them.

LSU has won 4 of the last 5 times they played, 3 of which were blowouts. Uga’s only win was a shoot out in Athens.

Florida owned us in the 90s, we have their number now. The series will even out more pretty soon, likely with Florida getting better and finding ways to not throw shoes when they’re winning

If we find a way to win the game next year the all-time series will be all tied up again after Florida was 7 games up at the end of the Spurier era where UF won 13 of 14 from LSU.

Anyone who follows these all-time series patterns will tell
You That’s pretty impressive ground to make up in 20 years.
