LSU has a boat load to spend on assistants (more important than HC in today’s world, sorry aggy)

It all comes down to who O gets for DC.

Munoz is primed for a promotion. Brady step back won’t be nearly what people expect. Aranda will be. Need a top shelf hire.

We shall see.

Either way, Woodward at LSU is good news. We will be competitive for a long time.

I don't buy that. Les Miles would still have been les miles. Les prob would have made Ryan worse.

We had a great year with Mett. He threw for 3 or 4k yards. Les just sucked.

I dont think it was super unexpected, great teams have attrition.

I think most did expect Brady to actually get some playcalling experience before an NFL team made him their OC though.

Seriously though LSU has historically been in the hunt for a while (minus a few seasons). Coach O will recruit the players and rebuild. Everyone wants to compare LSU to Bama and Clemson but they all have gotten to where we are today on different roads. Give coach O time and a good pool for assistant coaches and y’all will be back a lot sooner than later. The foundation has been built and proven... time to restock and reload.

Thanks for the faith in LSU. That was a very honest response. I see LSU definitely taking a step back due to losing a lot of Juniors and the defensive coordinator and Joe Brady. But having said that, I would gladly trade having to take a step back for the greatest season in college football history which none of any team can claim except LSU

"Rookie" coach Ed Orgeron has stepped into an interim HC role due to massive coaching turnover in the middle of the season twice in the last 6 years with 2 different teams and finished each season with a 6-2 record.

what an insanely cold take by you.

LSU is loaded with talent up and down the roster. That talent will be very young. Because of injuries and suspensions in 2019 a bunch of freshman and sophomores played/started so we have more experience than one would think.

LSU returns electric skill players. Marshall and Chase are not guardable. Erick Gilbert is a game changer. Trey Palmer replaces Jefferson. Emery and TDPrice and Curry are game breakers.

We have the same 5 difficult games in 2020 with two at home and three on road.

Auburn loses all of their Offensive line and defensive line. Nix returns
Florida Trask returns
Bama reloads. Mac Jones at QB
Texas Ehlinger returns. Game in BTR
TAM on road. Mond returns

Do we go 5 and 0 or 2 and 3 against these five opponents

All depends on the development of Myles Brennan. And how, fast.

I don’t think LSU will be gone and out of contention now. Next season will be overcoming all of the players and coaches that they’ve lost, and the difficult battle against complacency after winning a national title, so they probably take a step back. After that, I expect LSU to compete for a spot in the playoffs, but I don’t expect LSU to consistently get there like Alabama and Clemson have.

They’ve each consistently gotten there (each has only missed the playoff once in the playoff’s existence).

No reason in particular. But the unknown is if a rookie coach like orgeron can handle massive coaching turnover for the first time in his career.

Lol! LSU was supposed to lose 2-3 games this season. They shouldn’t be written off yet. As LSU fans were so used to the “drop off” after a successful season. What you forget, is that Eaux has been recruiting depth for the last two years. If Brennan can come in and be just half as good as Burrow we will be in the conversation next year.
