I gave you a direct and reasonable response in my first post. It's your problem if you disagree with it.
A reasonable response is not relying on a previous coaching staff's record as an indication of future results.
Previous results sure didnt effect 2019 LSU very much.

Where was Lsu finishing in the west the previous 5 years or so before Brady and Burrow? There's your answer...
last 5 years averaging 10 wins a year.
what is mizzuck averaging?
Posted on 1/17/20 at 10:31 pm to ksayetiger
And 10 wins a year is pretty damn good. So what's the problem here then?
Posted on 1/17/20 at 10:34 pm to SidewalkTiger
You have the same HC for 3 of those years, basing off of that, it's a pretty reasonable conclusion. It could get better (other than this year) or worse.

LSU went 9-4, 10-3, 15-0 under O.

Looks pretty good. So again, what's the problem?

I dont think anyone said there was a "problem".

Here's a little known fact. In 1985, CEO was a graduate assistant at McNeese, under Sonny Jackson. The OC/QB coach was Steve Ensminger.
CEO probably values this ring more than the 2 he got at Miami in 1989 and 1991.
What a rookie.

You certainly acted like it.

I didnt act like anything.
I called you a dumbass because I asked why LSU couldnt compete in the West going forward and you said because of their records the last five years.
Just because you cant come up with a relevant answer doesnt mean its a problem for anyone else.

Dude, this isn't difficult but you intend on making it out to be. I never said Lsu couldn't compete in the west. You lost alot of players and coaching staff off of this years team. There is nothing wrong with looking at the programs most recent years to calculate what they may do going forward with the said upheavel. Coach O is the main constant right now. Nothing I said was unreasonable.

LSU has the best WR in the nation coming back, another future 1st round WR in Terrance Marshall, the #1 TE in the country coming in who they are calling possibly the best TE recruit ever and a 5* RB recruit from last year who figures to play a big role (along with two other bruising RBs). They will still be loaded on offense. They will just need a little time to learn to play together.
Jacoby Stevens (who won 3 SEC defensive player of the week awards this year) coming back will help a lot. Stingley is already phenomenal. They will get safety Todd Harris back from injury. Kary Vincent (the fastest guy on the team) coming back also helps a lot because he was playing awesome on D down the stretch and was 2nd on the team in interceptions. Tyler Shelvin was a beast on the D-line this year. They have some really talented guys coming back with a lot of experience. They just will need some other newer players to step up.

That was literally the question asked in the OP.

Except you compared 3 years where O wasnt even head coach and two others where he still had Miles' players which is pretty irrelevant

Coaching turnover is in the binder. We good.

Looks pretty good. So again, what's the problem?
LSU consistently challenged for the SEC West every year, and won it often, until the back half of Miles' tenure. Program didn't collapse, it became stale and complacent and afraid to take chances on the field.
With the talent coming in, Miles could safely beat teams like Mizzou (for example), and keep winning 8-10 games a year. But that approach caused the program to slip and fall behind Alabama by a fair margin.
That's why Miles ultimately was fired, because he wasn't hungry anymore.
Orgeron is hungry, and I think he still is. We may not match 15-0 again, but he will chase it. I don't think he's going to be satisfied with going "1 and ___" against Saban, he's going to push hard to get more wins.
10 in 2018 seemed kinda sleepwalking at times, there really was only 1 big win (UGA) in that group (along with Auburn of course). SHOULD have beat A&M, that game caused some rumblings around here.
No reason with the talent we can get yearly, that 10 wins shouldn't be the basement for the foreseeable future.

He most certainly is a rookie coach. This is his first job where the university became all in after the first year or so of his hire. He brought new life to the program and reinvigorated what was otherwise essentially Alabama’s doormat.
This is the first time he’ll have to manage any kind of turnover of significance. He’s having mass turnover in staff and team production, so we’ll see if his previous experience as an assistant and failed head coach help him dig his way through the adversity that comes with such success. Tell me what other time Ed O has had to manage this much talent and coordinator turnover.
Never. He’s never been relevant outside a USC recruiter a bazillion years ago. I’m gonna laugh if he’s actually no better than Jimbo and his coordinators made his arse.

Okay, Lsu can compete in the west to infinity and beyond! Happy? I also went with you on the 3 years since O was there, instead of the 5 or so. Noticed that? Apparently not, it's called compromising.

There's literally no reason why LSU cant basically hire anyone they want.
