I wonder how much this post has to do with this "fan site" getting some attention for making such an outlandish release.

Idk many LSU fans that believed ensminger was better than Brady. But this is a dumb post. Brady is going to be interviewed for NFL HC jobs this offseason.

Brady hates recruiting and wants no part of college football

Where did this narrative come from?

quote:

Why Joe Brady was never going to stay at LSU over the NFL

It’s no secret that Brady wasn’t enamored with the recruiting grind that’s a major part of college football. He did his job, and he did it well, but recruiting teenagers wasn’t something Brady wanted to do longterm.

The realities of recruiting hit Brady hard not long after he joined Coach O’s staff. He told The Athletic last year “I’m learning it (recruiting) never stops….I’m just looking forward to having a few days in a row in the same place”.

On Tuesday, The Athletic quoted a LSU staffer as saying that Brady “just didn’t enjoy the communication aspect and all the teenager shenanigans”. They also noted, however, that he didn’t slack on the recruiting aspect of the job. He did it, even though it wasn’t his favorite thing in the world.

As funny as that would be, it would be a huge step back for his goal of being a nfl coach. This is like a Saban to LSU pipe dream during the coaching search. Or lack there of

This is laughable. We should've hired Brady as HC, but our admin is fricking retarded.

He doesn't want to recruit.

Also, I like Brady a lot, but do you really want someone who has one year of being a college PGC and one year of being an NFL OC to be your head coach?

The problem is Brady doesn't have aspirations of being a college head coach but rather an NFL head coach. That's been pretty clear since LSU hired him last year. And why would he leave an OC position in the NFL, where he wants to be, to take the same position at the mess in Columbia, SC? He'd be more likely to take the OC job at LSU in the offseason, which also has a snowball's chance in hell of happening. Brady used last year as an opportunity to get where he wants to be, and that's where he currently is, the NFL. He hates all the non-coaching duties like recruiting and babysitting teenagers that comes with college football.

Sounds like some NFL teams are strongly going to consider it.

I mean specifically as a college coach.

As weird as it may sound, I actually think Brady is more qualified to be an NFL head coach vs being a college head coach.

Ever since Sean McVay spring-boarded to a head coaching position at 31 years old in the NFL with very limited experience, NFL teams are not as scared of hiring what used to be viewed as too inexperienced to take on a job like that. Brady has been rumored to be a possible target for several NFL HC spots expected to be open for next year. He may not ultimately be hired as a HC next year, but he's been a pretty hot talked about name most of the season.

Maybe he just hated it under his former conditions.

Conditions like recruiting while the number one team in the country and to a program that generally finds itself in the top 5 in recruiting? LSU is one of the easiest recruiting jobs in the country with the natural pool of talent and program resources. Do you really think he'd be more interested in the same at South Carolina, who doesn't even compare, and battle with Clemson and a host of other school just for your local recruits? It would be infinitely more difficult and stressful to recruit to a program like USC than LSU, especially if the pitch is a short-lived tenure to get him a HC position while they're trying to rebuild.
