What competitive advantage does Will Wade have in the NIL era?
I mean the entire sport of CBB is now using paid players and he is one of the worst coaches in America when it comes to sets and player development.
His entire career was built around acquiring better players through shady deals involving boosters, which every coach in America can now do without having to worry about breaking any rules.
Why not save the money you'd have to pay to hire him, find a guy at a lower level who can actually coach and use the remaining money for finding better players?

Beats me but I sure hope someone hires him. The melt from LSU fans will be hilarious and it's basically 2 guaranteed wins for Bama each year.

Phenomenal recruiter when he was the only person stupid enough to discuss paying players on an FBI wiretap. Probably won’t recruit as well nowadays as he did back then now that everyone else can pay players too. Had one of the most talented teams in the NCAA and still lost a bunch of games and looked shitty doing it. Is an absolute legend to the unathletic basketball geek portion of our fanbase because he never played a sport and made it to a high level of coaching like they all wished they could’ve done.
In short, I thought he was an arrogant, immature douchebag who wasn’t worth nearly the headache he caused, and apparently Woodward agreed because he temporarily made our basketball program radioactive in exchange for getting rid of him. But again, he’s “shaped like a pear” and is a “gangster” and is “tGeneral” so the most annoying portion of your fanbase will love him and will melt when he’s fired

Because he isn’t getting you any more shoe money than you would’ve gotten otherwise.

He has invested in some companies that generously give to NIL
