I wouldn't. Mett is a huge dude.

While I think AJ will be a good qb this year, last year he was Bama's weak link and he is one of the reasons Bama lost on nov5. Take away his dump off passes and he had a shitty game with less than 50% compl

I might trade him for Wilson, the best QB and toughest kid in the conference, and a tremendous leader. Outside of that, no.

I hope you are not trying to say he is fat. I will have you know Mett plays soccer.

One bird in the hand really is better than 3 in the bush. LSU has all the talent they need to win a national title so long as they have a solid QB. Mett might be great or he might be the next John Brantley. I can guarantee you the LSU coaches would take a guarantee at that position.

Dbt - you are one of my favs, but it is pretty hard to believe you "might" trade Mett for the best QB in the SEC (Wilson).

If Mett is as good as I think he might be, with the WR's, OL and RB's at hand, and hopefully the green light from CLM for Stud to throw downfield, there could be a huge surprise in the national QB conversation. Mett has a cannon. Thing is, it's supposition, don't know. Wilson won 11 games with little help from the OL nor from the D, he's a proven guy. That's a tough proposition.

Fair enough. I can appreciate moving all your chips to the middle of the table.

Suffering the nadir 90's I don't believe too much till I see it, and not before.

The coaches know what they've got in Mett.
Frankly, I wouldn't trade Mett. While you can win a championship with a steady if unspectacular QB, it's not a sure thing. Usually it takes a little luck as well. Mett looks like he could be spectacular. If he is, we won't need much luck.

This is why any coach in America who had to choose between Mett or AJ for their starting QB would take AJ.

Accuracy and decision making are 10 times more important at the college level. With him being unable to beat Jefferson or Lee for the starting job and those two QB's being completely inept, this has to concern any LSU fan thinking objectively.

And I wouldn't trade Mett for Wilson either. Wilson may be the best in the SEC, but he's the best in that system. He could suck in LSU's.

I like Mett's potential, and think he will be a good QB; a QB like Ryan Mallett except without the gaudy passing numbers b/c LSU runs a much more run oriented offense than Arkansas has the last few seasons. However, I don't see him being in the national QB conversation up there with Tyler Wilson and Matt Barkley, because if he is that good then surely he would have been LSU's QB last season. I know Les Miles gave too much deference to JJ and his experience, but I don't think he would have kept Mett on the bench if Mett was a top 5 or even top 10 QB in the nation.

I love this line of thinking.

Been discussed, I don't know, 3 million times, probably pointless for 3 million and 1.

Yeah, that was my point in original post. Can't wait to find out what's what.

Wow. Mett could suck in any system. You at least know Wilson is great in a pro style system. What could Mett possibly do that Wilson can't do, even if Mett turns out to exceed even the wildest expectations? That would be like taking TJ Yeldon over Darren McFadden because you hope Yeldon might be the next McFadden.
