As a LSU fan I’m all for it.

You’re trolling but there is a spec of potential truth. LSU is an original member. They are the SEC. I hope LSU won’t let Kiffin or some over zealous boosters sway them to fight the SEC in court.
I can only see bad things for them in that scenario. . Without Bama to play, without Ole Miss to play, without Georgia, without Florida etc who will they schedule as an independent? La Tech, Rice, North Texas? Let them join the Big 12. Playing in Manhattan , Ks in November will be loads of fun. Oh yea, I forgot about Lubbock, the Oasis of College ball. They will feel right at home in Lubbock .
LSU is a great member of the SEC. Their fans are awesome and they belong in the SEC.
BUT DONT TWEAK THE BEAR TOO MUCH! The other 15 Presidents, and Board of Trustees will kick you out if you Harm them suffficiently. Don’t forget as well Clemson, FSU would take your 16th spot in a Minnesota minute.

Yeah, you old piss fans don't want to deal with LSU every year. It makes total sense that you'd be begging for us to leave.

LSU would lose money by going independent. Notre Dame makes less on their deal than each SEC school. They choose to stay independent because they like to have an oversized voice on key decisions. Perhaps that's attractive to LSU, but in terms of throwing their weight around, they aren't Notre Dame

LSU could build a schedule like notre dame
Who? No SEC team would play you, so you are hoping for 2nd tier teams.

The big east would be a great place for LSU. Then they could play pro players and they would be closer to their French Canadian roots.

They’re getting bad advice then! We aren’t Notre Dame. We don’t have a national following. Honestly, we need the SEC and the SEC needs us.

The SEC could replace LSU with a comparable program with a few phone calls. LSU can not replace the SEC.
I don’t know why it is so hard for most LSU fans here to comprehend that membership in the SEC is voluntary. But being a member means a school agrees to follow the rules the members set.
LSU is fighting every one of the 15 other member institutions on this issue. If they decide to continue the fight it won’t end well for LSU.
