Urban may have had a slight rebuild, but Ron Zook was a helluva recruiter and had the team loaded with unproven talent.

It hasn't been in a long time.

Why spent over 400 million on stadium renovations to increase capacity when attendance is going down?

That is a national trend.

Football loving Texas is growing as we speak, faster than most of the country. Even if the Longhorns were good the market is now too big for just them. And the Longhorns aren’t good.

No doubt. 22/24 of our starters in the Ohio State title game were Zook recruits.

Football in Texas is not growing....

Meaning the larger Texas becomes the more it hurts college football in the state.
25 years ago it would have been different but the national trend has been lower attendance in all sports.
This includes Texas.

I know he wasn't a "great" head coach record wise, but there wasn't a harder working recruiter in the SEC than Ron Zook when he was in Gainesville.

Herman walked into a ranked team that every analyst said was poised for a run Urban had to rebuild

Florida the 3 years before Meyer: 8-5, 8-5, 7-5. They were ranked heading into the bowl game all 3 years but went 0-3 in the bowls

Texas the 3 years before Herman: 6-7, 5-7, 5-7 0-1 in Bowls.

ETA: Florida was ranked #10 going into Meyers first year, but yeah he had a rebuild

locker room is toxic

Having taught one of his Cougars and being friends with a dad of another, I know on good authority U of H football team held a huge party to celebrate his departure last year. Dude can’t manage a locker room.

Let’s first hear about aggy running the state. Last I heard the state of Texas was still part of the Union & had not sold itself to Mexico for a case of beer and lifetime supply of jizz jars.

I have a feeling that is not true because of Ed Oliver's response after Herman left.

I believe Oliver used the words betrayed.
If Cougar High was happy that Herman left then they wouldn't have responded in that matter.

What makes me doubt that even more has been the actions of some UH fans. They have probably been even worse this year than Nebraska and Aggy in their attempt to attack UT at every turn.

How were those gifted? Texas also arguably “gifted” away the OK State, Texas Tech, and USC games.

Texas has won the last 3 games against Baylor. This thread is why people think of y’all as the little brother.

And fwiw, most of your fans haven’t acted like this recently and Texas fans have IMO.
