locker room is toxic
Having taught one of his Cougars and being friends with a dad of another, I know on good authority U of H football team held a huge party to celebrate his departure last year. Dude can’t manage a locker room.

To be fair, it would be idiotic of UF to fire him this year. Say what you will about the SEC (L)EAST but he did get to Atlanta twice.
That being said, after he ran his mouth in Baton Rouge last year, I will enjoy whatever bad things befalls him.

re: I've not been paying attention, does LSU have a new tiger yet?

Actually your Missouri Tigers formed at the end of the Civil War as a militia. The 9th Louisiana Infantry was at the near beginning, with Stonewall Jackson giving us the name Fighting Tigers at Manassas / Bull Run.
That is the history. Go back to your meth lab.

One of the most spot on, good analysis of football game planning, and play call I have read on tRant to date. If they see DJ break huddle does the D
a) cover with a LB in space to prevent a big run off the sweep, opening up Guice and co. for more room up front.
b) bring in a DB to the line, giving receivers more room.
c) attack straight up middle and watch Jackson burn them.
Good to see LSU playing chess on offense.

re: Herb Tyler explains why LSU football has struggled to find a QB

I hope that in my lifetime one of the long-term LSU players during the Miles regime publishes a book on the way things occurred, from practices to game prep, to qb snaps during practice, to team meetings were actually conducted while former CLM was the man. I think the actual facts and details of the program organization may be scary.
And (at least through 2013) I was a Miles fan.

CEO has connections to his Stephen Jones, the kid's father, from his Arkansas days Ed O speaking to Little Rock TD club. I would imagine if he was a P5 prospect Arkansas and/or Coach O would have had some conversations.
Check the 32 minute mark talking about Stephen Jones.

Recruiting explanation sought?

First off, what is our number that we can take max this year? Seems like with the sign-and-place (Brandon Martin, for example) we should go over 25 right?
What is the explanation for why we never bring in max and fill in with 3 star-types and take a shot with them? What is the worst that could happen there?
I'll hang up and listen.

I would love for Bethesda to take on a Star Wars franchise. Could you imagine a lightsaber duel with the Creation Engine??

Among the best analysts in all of sports. Verne needs to take his chortle to the nursing home.
re: Do you think Herman flops at UT?

Who had the better resume before hired at UT? Not Herman!
With McComb and his ilk trying to be shot callers in Texas athletics, Herman may have his hands tied.

All in for Al Bundy. He did, after all, score 4 TDs in a high school game. OC candidate?

While the NCAA is plenty culpable here, chalk another screw up to Jindal & Pastorek's mismanagement of public education in Louisiana. :banghead:

1997 Herb Tyler / Kevin Faulk upsetting Spurrier in Death Valley. A piece of Tiger Stadium turf is still growing in my parents' yard.

Reliant / NRG is a dump for being such a new stadium.
1) Long restroom lines
2) Ridiculous long concession lines
3) Terrible outflow traffic, worse than Baton Rouge
Will probably still go since we live here, but the Wisconsin game was a mess. Houston needs to take a few pages from Arlington
