If tweet fails to load, click here. A Louisiana couple is facing charges after police allege they left their 4-year-old son with another child after he ingested a THC gummy so they could attend a football game.
Mary Cormier and David Butts, of Scott, were arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to juveniles, child desertion, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, the Scott Police Department said in a statement.
On Sunday, Sept. 13, Scott police officers were called to investigate an incident involving a 4-year-old child who had allegedly ingested a THC gummy.
During the investigation, officers learned that the parents knew that the boy had ingested the gummy but “chose to leave the four-year-old with another juvenile child so they could attend an LSU football game instead of seeking medical attention,” police allege.
The LSU game against Louisiana Tech was scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 12, but was postponed until 8:40 p.m. because of foul weather.
The couple returned home about eight hours later and found the child breathing but unresponsive.
The boy was rushed to a local hospital and was admitted to the ICU.
It is unclear whether Cormier or Butts have retained an attorney who can speak on their behalf.

Damn. I don’t understand how people do that to their kids.

Obviously since they attended the LaTech game, they're from north LA... or truthfully, they look to be from South Arkansas. Which explains a lot.

You guys really do have way too much time on your hands. You know, LSU is not the only thing in the world. There are other things you can focus your time on.
