The actual reason for this (which I have heard first hand from BOTH the Auburn and LSU Band Directors) comes from Joe Alleva. Apparently he tried to pass a rule this summer to keep ALL visiting bands at EVERY SCHOOL from performing at halftime citing "safety reasons" for overcrowded sidelines. Obviously this rule didn't pass but if it had you wouldn't see a single visiting band in any stadium in the conference performing this year. Apparently he's going to try to pass it again next year.

I think that LSU is being very classy with how they are handling this. No one knows better than the good people in La about flooding, and how we should all join together and help where we can.
