2nd most national titles in the BCS/playoff era with 4 total appearances. How many national titles have has Texas 8&4 played for and won?

Strange way to take a compliment

There's been no compliments from Texas 8&4 so I just assumed you were being a smart arse lol.

Heard a stat Tigers are 8-0 in those games.
Yikes if true.
I just went to the AP Poll archive and cross referenced winsipedia for the dates of the games to check this stat. LSU and A&M have only met twice when both teams were ranked in the top 15 - 1987 and 1986. LSU won both games. Both games were season openers, though both teams would also finish those years in the top 15 so the preseason rankings seem to be warranted.

At least Gameday won't be there. That is an auto-loss for A&M

10-year contract, you say?
Here's your 10 games under the contract:
September 13, 1986 Baton Rouge, LA #15 LSU 35–17
September 5, 1987 College Station, TX #6 LSU 17–3
September 3, 1988 Baton Rouge, LA #17 LSU 27–0
September 2, 1989 College Station, TX Texas A&M 28–16
September 29, 1990 Baton Rouge, LA LSU 17–8
September 14, 1991 College Station, TX #20 Texas A&M 45–7
September 5, 1992 Baton Rouge, LA #7 Texas A&M 31–22
September 4, 1993 College Station, TX #5 Texas A&M 24–0
September 3, 1994 Baton Rouge, LA #15 Texas A&M 18–13
September 2, 1995 College Station, TX #3 Texas A&M 33–17
It doesn't look like LSU backed out of any games under the original contract to me.
But yes, the SEC forced LSU to upgrade their schedule by replacing A&M with Arkansas.

well yea, that's because we always played them at the end of the season when they joined the conference.

Thanks, Harry. We've been waiting on you to arrive on the board and give us your thoughts.
LSU fans have been hiding behind the "SEC made us do it" excuse ever since LSU got tired of starting off the season with a loss. Ironic these days right?

I believe it was a 10 game with a home and home rollover to make it 12. I think LSU (and A&M) was assuming A&M would join the SEC, which we likely would have, if that bitch Ann Richards fricked us over funding for Reed arena and an attempt to make Baylor relevant (her alma mater).
After it was apparent we weren't joining, LSU backed out of the additional 2, because they couldn't afford an additional arse beating on top of the now 8 game schedule (+3 non conf) they had to play. All non conf were at home so no equal site, even though LSU offered a neutral site.
All jokes aside it was mostly about money. LSU could make more on a home game, and have a better record not playing A&M in a non conference schedule, and A&M benefitted in the same manner. That's why the 200k LSU owed for reneging on the contract was settled for half.

An automatic 2-year renewal was signed in the second year of the original contract.
quote:The terms of the renewal contract were that either party terminating the contract before the term was up had to pay the other party $200,000 OR $100,000 and a suitable replacement. LSU offered up USL and $100,000. A&M balked saying USL wasn't a suitable replacement. Then this happened:
That's why the 200k LSU owed for reneging on the contract was settled for half.

THAT'S when aggies started to freak the frick out about the contract.
LSU abided by the terms of the original contract, playing all ten games, in spite of the fact that they now had to play home-and-away games with Arkansas in the final 3 years of the term.
LSU abided by the terms of the contract extension by paying the prescribed amount and providing a suitable replacement.
Conversely, A&M got their dick bent by a directional school, and swore they'd NEVER play LSU EVER, EVER again.

This was what I had intended to put together last night when making this post but Winsipedia and Wikipedia did not have the rankings for both teams readily available.
Good Work Farmer!
