Mullen is a way better coach than Orgeron

Touché... your very correct... doesn’t mean Orgeron has attained average or that Mullen has surpassed though.. plus, championship. the Gators fans love him, and he’s a capable game day coach... but I grew up watching Bear, Shug, and Vince. I’ve seen Gene, Steve, and Nick. I’ll even include Gary Pinkel.

Well, look who came back! You back for a couple of days before Alabama breaks you for good?

- both teams have good but not great coaches
- both teams are going to blame COVID for their less than acceptable seasons
- both teams will have gotten crushed by BAMA

Can't speak to LSU but UGA does not have elite talent at a key position...QB. Had UGA has a QB capable of starting on a mediocre SEC team UGA may have had a much different season.....pick up a few extra first downs in the Bama game and the half time lead might not have been wiped out in the second half without a defense which had been on the field all night....probably wouldn't have happened but it wouldve been a different game.

And UGA had recievers runnning wide open behind FLorida's defense but the midget walk on, game as he is, couldn't get the ball to him. With an average QB capable of starting in the SEC that game is definitely different....again, a couple less short possessions keeping UFs offense off the field and a couple of those wide open receivers hit in stride...only Florida fans would be justified in claiming it wouldn't have made any difference...

And, if that game had gone drastically different due to average QB play we would be looking at a rematch with Bama in Atlanta with what appears to be a vastly improved offense....

Most UGA fans thought losing to Alabama was most likely but thought a rematch in Atlanta was likely and likely to be more competitive. Had any sane UGA fan been told that Stetson Bennett was going to start what, 5 games, they would have thought 8-2 was a stretch. I still think it is because we may or may not play Mizzoo in Columbia which is a meaningless game and we ain't had our inexplicable loss and have not seen the "we don't want to be here" attitude that prima donna athletes get when they pooch their lips out cause they ain't in the playoffs...

UGAs season so far has not been overly impacted by COVID...at least not to the extent that some have seen.

Not according to the fans I know and talk radio in Atl - this was the year with heisman hype for the qb that walked away

I suspect there was some heisman talk for Newman in August....hell, there was some for Bennett in September LOL...but most UGA fans thought we probably lose to Bama in tuscaloosa and would get a rematch in Atlanta with a shot at winning it and making the playoffs....and if you can beat Alabama its not out of the question you have a shot at a natty....

Most UGA fans also thought UF would be much better and that game would be tight...Las Vegas agreed the week of the game with UGA a slight favorite.

I think the team has actually overachieved based on what Bennett was able to do for us.

I agree completely....as limited as Bennett is you gotta admire what he has accomplished. Had most UGA fans been told in August that Bennet would be the starter most would have predicted the 2 losses we have and probably a couple of more.

Best D in the SEC was contingent on Jordan Davis being healthy. Stuffing the run starts with him.

We had injuries to Jermaine Johnson (starting sOLB), Monty Rice (starting mike) and DJ Daniel (3rd corner who not only rotates in with 1st team but also assists with nickel duties).
Johnson and Rice played limited snaps.
Daniel didnt play at all.

Coupled with the offenses inability to sustain possessions and a depleted defense was worn out. Injuries happen to everyone but you can't have injuries and an offense which can't move the ball a little and hope for better outcomes than UGA has had.....

For UGA to have beaten Bama UGA would've had to be at full strength and play a near perfect game....most UGA fans understood this and most thought we would probably lose a close on in Tuscaloosa but would be sound enough to earn a rematch in Atlanta. There ain't a UGA fan I know of who thought this would be the case with Stetson Bennett starting.....

How can a team that recruits as well as UGA has the last 4-5 years have a CEILING of 8-2?

It is easy to 'splain....we have shite the bed with the most important position on the field....UGA is lights out recruiting but keeping a QB on the field who is on par with the rest of the talent on the field has proven beyond the grasp of Smart and company....most UGA fans are still hopeful this will change, many think it will, some are beginning to think it wont and some know it wont. If it does, and UGA recruits as it has, UGA will be a TOUGH out for anyone...if it doesn't we will still dominate shite teams and lose to good ones....and possibly lose to a shite team once in a while.

It’s almost like had 2 5* QBs transfer and one leave too early. Then lose a grad transfer starter right before the season starts. Did you see the midget we had playing?

"Just a few things and plays here and there and LSU is undefeated in the playoff hunt. Just a crazy year, I tell you. Last week, we had that TD called back. You take away those 4 games and LSU is undefeate"

It doesnt matter what Hurts became. It matters what Hurts was in 2017, and he wasnt close to a 2nd round QB in 2017, yet Saban kept starting him over 1st round lock Tua. Kirby made the same exact decision in 2018. Most, if not ALL, coaches would have done the same, which continues to keep it right in line with "bad luck" and far away from "mismanagement".

I ain't so sure most coaches would have kept Fromm in the 2018 LSU game....I seriously doubt Saban or Dabo would have....not that that game made much of a difference but, had Fields been brought in and played well who knows who the starter wouldve been the rest of the way???

Having the third OC in the last three years has not helped at all. This coaching position needs stability if there ever has been a need for stability in coaching positions.

If you had told me, before the season started, Stetson Bennett would be the QB through the Florida game I would have predicted at least three losses and perhaps four for that stretch of games. Stability, talent and experience at the QB position all around the conference, not every team of course, and Georgia is starting a walk-on, pure insanity. I know he is on scholarship now but he was not coming out of HS.

Dawg fans need to tip our cap to playcalling by the opponents.
Both bama and florida crushed us on boundary blitzes.

There is a little bit of a formula out on Lannings playcalling. And a good OC along with a good QB can exploit our aggressiveness.

We are also vulnerable to nickel/dime packages. Our nickel and safeties can cover TEs and RBs... but they are getting torched in man coverage against speedy slot receivers. Maybe every team suffers that in the SEC. But it feels like UGA needs to add more cornerbacks in coverage and fewer safety bodies.

The QBs of our defense are Lecounte and Rice. Having a gimpy Rice against Bama or no Lecounte after his accident has strained a lot of our assignments on the backend. UGA fans are blaming LBs and their coverage abilities, but when reviewing the tape we are having coverage errors at safety and corner (and the ILBs are the closest man to the target and getting the blame)

If Daniels wasn't ready, why not give Beck a shot? Even with shortened practices, he's probably got higher ceiling than Bennett or Mathis
