This guy gets it. With the talent UGA has they should be elite like OSU, Clemson, or Bama. They have just as much if not more. But they are not elite. Not close. Florida beat them with...wait for it...player development. Better...roster management.

They are a frustrating team to root for. And I’ve tried. Got that Atlanta sports mental block thing going.

Most teams would struggle with their starting QB quitting right before the season started and the 2nd best guy being out until November. Yes, even those 3 teams. Do you "get it"?

- both teams have elite talent true
- both teams have high expectations true
- both teams have good but not great coaches true
- both teams are going to blame COVID for their less than acceptable seasons false
- both teams will have gotten crushed by BAMA true

We don't blame covid. this team fell victim to ultra wokeness that was supposed to make these guy play better once they got the lesson-they-wanted-to-teach-the-world, off their chest.
That didn't work and they are not happy with anything.

It is not Pelini's fault. Venables couldn't come in an make these guys tackle.....it's a culture problem at this time.

Fromm going pro, his replacement quitting, and his replacements replacement not being recovered from ACL repair is much closer to "bad luck" than "mismanagement".

Best D in the SEC was contingent on Jordan Davis being healthy. Stuffing the run starts with him.

We had injuries to Jermaine Johnson (starting sOLB), Monty Rice (starting mike) and DJ Daniel (3rd corner who not only rotates in with 1st team but also assists with nickel duties).
Johnson and Rice played limited snaps.
Daniel didnt play at all

In 2016, we were told we'd be plug and play in 2020, no matter the calibre of the fallen number one.

I remember.

You mean when Kirby made the same decision Saban made with Hurts over Tua in 2017? Nearly every coach, if not every coach, makes the same decision when faced with the exact same situation, which keeps it away from the "mismanagement" spin you are using.

Tua (1st rd) and hurts (2nd rd) are not the same my friend. Much closer in talent.

Fromm was lucky to go 5th round. Fields has had top 3 pick on him since 9th grade. To let him get away is a clear mismanagement of talent.

GA fans act like they are the only team that has to manage injuries. You can read into their posts, “next year is our year.” Blah, blah, blah.

It doesnt matter what Hurts became. It matters what Hurts was in 2017, and he wasnt close to a 2nd round QB in 2017, yet Saban kept starting him over 1st round lock Tua. Kirby made the same exact decision in 2018. Most, if not ALL, coaches would have done the same, which continues to keep it right in line with "bad luck" and far away from "mismanagement".

Certainly not acting like that, but dont act like every team has the same fortune with injuries because that would be stupid.

What?!? Bro, at the time Hurts was reigning SEC offensive player of the year. Tua was rated #32 recruit and played in mop up duty. That is not a “first round lock”. You are re writing history for your own narrative.

Kirby fricked it up with the fields decision. Any UGA fan will tell you that.

Saban also managed to keep both of his guys for ANOTHER year.

SEC sucked arse on offense in 2016, so thats not saying much.

Passer ratings that prove my point:

2016 OM = 104
2016 LSU = 89
2016 Washington = 84
2016 Clemson = 88
2017 Vandy = 91
2017 FSU = 118
2017 AnM = 121
2017 LSU = 123
2017 AU = 112
2017 Clemson = 136

Tua was MUCH better at passing than Hurts was, even in 2017. Any Bama fan will tell you that.

Look in the mirror and repeat to yourself.

Good luck, a lot of it. Tua was about to bolt, just like Fields did, but a very fortunate playoff invite presented a final chance to keep him around and Hurts passer rating of 59 vs UGA forced Saban's hand. Also, Hurts had to stay in order to become a graduate transfer. Sitting out 2018 would have been stupid on his part.

so how well did Bama "manage" all those injuries to their defense last year?

Let me know when you're
down to your 4th string QB,missing your 2 top receivers, your best DL and best DB {both pre season All-SEC} PLUS 3 other starters on defense.

BTW.just amazing that Saban got the best WR and best running back in the conference to come back for their senior years...

Most UGA fans are excited about 2021 - a lot of positive things happening offensively for UGA with Daniels, Monken, and our WR core and you know the defense will be pretty good again.

Starting the off season championship hype early I see...
