8-2 was our ceiling as soon as Newman quit, so no, you are wrong OP.

Maybe if they played us the same day we played Florida.

I don't think 8-2 and 3-7 are the same records

How can a team that recruits as well as UGA has the last 4-5 years have a CEILING of 8-2?

Most teams tend to not do as well as they should when they are down to their 3rd/4th string QB's.

The biggest disappointment will occur when Clemson wins the *championship and nobody remembers or cares because this is the first phony season of our lifetimes.

- both teams have elite talent

Certainly true, but they aren't really comparable rn:
Per 247, at the beginning of the season Georgia had 85 scholarship players:
16 five stars
51 four stars
18 three stars

UGA fans feel free to update attrition issues

LSU now has
6 five stars (one upperclassman)

34 four stars are listed, they are mostly freshmen, but
a)Ika and Moore have left the team and are still counted
b) Brennan is likely out for the season and Kardell Thomas is recovering from an injury

3 star Thomas Perry is also recovering from an injury

Comparing UGA's season to the dumpster fire that is LSU is disingenuous. Georgia lost to two very good football teams. LSU couldn't find it's arse with both hands. Tennessee has been more disappointing than UGA.

So far this team hasn't dropped one game to an inferior team. They've weathered adversity, young guys have stepped up, JT looks real, and a guy like Stetson (as much as I've criticized him) has played a lot of games above what I considered his ceiling and probably saved some games for us.

I think this is a season to be proud of.

Couple of observations

- both teams have elite talent
- both teams have high expectations
- both teams have good but not great coaches
- both teams are going to blame COVID for their less than acceptable seasons
- both teams will have gotten crushed by BAMA

Well, this is dumb. Why would we blame covid? We really haven't been hit by it.

We do have elite talent everywhere except QB, and we THINK we might have that taken care of now. We can't help that our best option opted out and our next best option was slowly recovering.

AH! That's where you were heading. You just wanted to say this. So, why didn't you just skip all of the nonsensical "analysis" and just say, "Hey! Look at us, everybody! We beat two pretty good teams!"?

You could have saved us all a lot of time.

This should have been a playoff contender. Losing to Florida like that is absolutely unacceptable.

We were leading you at half with a walk on qb...... and some of our elite players out. Why dont we have a rematch in a couple weeks now that we found an actual qb. Blama is good but not like we or others teams are not capable of beating you.

Little did we know about the transfer portal and its negative effects that would come with it at the time. Just our luck the whole game changed as soon as we had a badass recruiter at HC.
