No one knows what to expect in a game situation with two brand new coordinators.

If you go to the more in depth and detailed betting sites they have no confidence in our offense and QB. Kelly’s defenses at UCLA give up over 32ppg but Vegas has us scoring between 28-31 vs that defense. I know my fellow LSU fans think Max is the greatest thing to ever hit BR but Vegas considers him a downgrade from Brennan.

No way I am touching that. The fact that the line has not drastically moved since it opened means we are missing something.

Somebody had LSU at like, 7.5 wins in 2019.

Sometimes they're just wrong.

They might be wrong, but collectively the people who are betting that line are not rushing in on LSU for some reason

Thats weird considering they had Max favored to win the starting qb position

I think the main reason is regional bias. Las Vegas' (where these lines originate) proximity to California would suggest that a large number of potential bettors will bet on the local teams. Casinos in Biloxi, Lake Charles, etc. are probably seeing bettors load up on LSU.

Uncertainty regarding the coordinators. That will be null and void after the first quarter.

Didn't LSU pretty much suck last year?

I see no reason to be confident in them beating what will be a top 20 team to open the season.

Unknowns at the coordinator positions. Fairly inexperienced QB. Overall question of wtf was last year.

LSU is a joke until proven otherwise
LSU doesn't win 8 games for the first time in 20 years and all of a sudden they are a joke?

Seems the Aggies haven't gotten over that 2017 loss to UCLA.

I agree, this line is a head scratcher. LSU will roll.

I haven't looked into UCLA but -3 is a slap in the face to LSU and should piss them off enough to mudhole the bruins

This is probably a lot of it. If they are just marginal improvements LSU should cover this easily.
Got to be it but---assuming the usual suspects are loading up on LSU---there has to be a lot of UCLA money coming from somewhere to keep the line at 3, correct?

Maybe. There doesn't have to be any conspiracy or anything wrong with LSU or the linesetters.

They just take basic observable facts and make educated guesses.

No idea why people are convinced -3 constitutes disrespect

An LSU team that was outright bad for much of last year is going across the country with an unproven QB and new coordinators and a wildcard HC to play a UCLA team that has a game under their belt.

UCLA's RB Charbonnett is the real deal and might break off one or two td's

Yep you’re right. He’ll have two.
