Swamp doesn't come close to williams brice. Ive been to both as well. It's honestly a myth how loud the swamp is. Very overrated environment.
Yeah you went to UF vs SC
Hard for anyone to get hyped for that game

As someone who has been to several games at Husky Stadium, I am amused at the comments by people who have never attended a game there stating that there is no way it could be ranked number 2.
Husky Stadium is loud because of the construction, not because of the fans. I be will be the first to admit that there are many stadiums, especially in the South, where the fans are louder, but because of the stadium construction the decibel level is lower, open end zones not withstanding.

It still isn’t that loud. Maybe louder than Missouri and Arkansas but still falls behind the middle of the pack SEC stadiums like Alabama/South Carolina/Georgia.

1. **Rustling Leaves**: 10 dB

Whispers are 3X leaves?
No, it's 100 times louder...

This has NOTHING to do with the volume at Willy B...
Or maybe it does...
Or maybe it does...

I'm having trouble adjusting to Lonnie Utah's new avatar.

South Carolina isn't middle of the pack if it's tied for 2nd loudest in the country by decibel level.

Do you want me to get into when you use A vs C weighting on noise dosimetry, or what states use different frequency ranges for audiometric testing?

Lonnie Utah - We're not even getting into the fact that they only have general dB readings but no octave band analysis. Right???

I was surprised how mid Kyle field sounded

Yes I have.

I guess it doesn't really count since it's not our home stadium but Mike Leach said Little Rock's War Memorial stadium was the loudest place he ever coached. I wish I could find the comment he made, it was pretty funny.

That’s cool. It’s well documented that someone’s ear fell off in Tiger Stadium once because of the noise. I doubt that’s happened anywhere else.

Exactly.
Years ago, in the 1990's when I was a car audio buff, I used to have my own dB meter. I used to subtlety switch between A and C weighted response curves going between my own car and others. My buddies at the time didn't understand the difference and couldn't figure out why their vehicles didn't do as well as mine.
But you're 100% right. Without breaking down dB's by octave using a spectrum analyzer, these are kind of pointless numbers.
But I'll stand by my teams stadium tying for #2....

I would put A&M against any of the other Stadiums in the SEC. By your own admission you haven't been there.
Yes that’s what I said.

A&M is extremely loud.
They may be. I’ve only been to 13 of the SEC stadiums so I can’t speak for the 3 I’ve not yet been to.

you haven't been there. I have, as well as in those stadiums you mention.
Good for you. But no stadium has the same atmosphere every week. A lot depends on the time of the game, the strength of the opponent, how much is on the line, etc. Going to a stadium one time doesn’t always give you the full experience. And no offense meant, but not every opponent is going to get up for playing Missouri the same way they would if a Top 10 or 15 ranked opponent is coming to town.
I’ve been to probably 100+ games at Auburn…. 15-20 games in Tuscaloosa… 7 games in Athens… 7 games in Baton Rouge… 7 games in Oxford… 7 games in Starkville… 5 games in Knoxville… 4 games in Gainesville… 3 games in Nashville… 2 games in Columbia, SC… 2 games in Fayetteville, AR… and 1 each in Lexington and Columbia, MO.
This in addition to games at Clemson, Penn State (a night white out game), Virginia, Georgia Tech, USC, Syracuse, Kansas State, UAB, and Troy (a games against Mizzou actually!)
I would say out of all my experiences, LSU, Auburn, Penn State, and Florida are the loudest.

Oregon with only 50k fans on the list is remarkable.
Gives me hope for Mizzou to be rocking after they finish closing in the stadium.

What is the loudest without piping in noise like Neyland does though.

My dude, one of Florida's loudest games ever came against South Carolina.

Low frequency noise impacts at lower pressure levels are highly underappreciated. That's another reason why the stadiums built in a way that their upper decks conduct vibrations/amplify vibrations can really contribute to confusion on the field without dramatically impacting the overall sound pressure levels. In these stadiums...fewer fans can have a higher impact by stomping, creating low frequency sound pressure, along with their screaming, than in bigger stadiums with different substructure underpinning.
