Seinfeld once famously said in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: “I hate people.” Amen.

When I moved to Oakland in the 70s, one of the first things I noticed was all the empty Old English 800 cans on the sidewalks adjacent to the liquor stores. I decided to give it a try and couldn’t finish a16oz can. Nasty stuff. Don’t miss Oaktown.

You don’t want to be the oldest guy in the club. That became apparent to me when I was in my early 40s, even though I could have passed as someone in their early 30s due to good genes.

I read the London Times Mirror and U.K. Sun on a regular basis. Earlier this week, a 12-year-old. English boy was stabbed to death by a migrant in Birmingham. With the higher birth rate among the Muslim newcomers, it’s only going to get worse.

According to a website dedicated to celebrity height, Bruce Strigbean is 5’-9”, which seems to be the average height of many male celebs.

I remember LBJ famously saying the troops would be home by Christmas in1965. When that didn’t happen he requested another 50,000 troops to be deployed. DOD was run by Ivy League types who had served in WWII.

I keep a sheet that indicates how many times I have washed specific t-shirts and sweatshirts that contain print or logos.
re: Military guys... who's your favorite service member past or present?

Luigi Albanese. PFC Albanese was an Italian immigrant who grew-up in Seattle. He won the Medal of Honor while serving with the 1st Cav in Vietnam. He killed 8 snipers including two with his bayonet when he ran out of ammo. He was killed during this encounter.

Washington State seems to have a disproportionate number of serial killers.

The Oakland Raiders played their home games in the following locations starting in 1960: Kezar Stadium San Francisco, Candlestick Park, Frank Youell Field, on the campus of Laney College, a Junior College in Oakland and finally the Oakland Coliseum starting in 1966.
Laney College was featured in the popular series Last Chance U.

The previous 4 mayors of Seattle served only one term. I don’t see her getting reelected.
re: My peanut butter rant

Trader Joe’s is my go-to for peanut butter. Their peanut butter contains one ingredient-dry roasted peanuts. Nothing else. It has that peanut in the shell taste; not the taste of crap brands like Skippy and Jiff.

Be careful eating peanut butter. Sticking a big chunk of it in your mouth is dangerous.

I remember when Falcons’ starting QB Chris Chandler went down with an injury and the back-up QB Michael Vick came into the game. The camera panned to Vick’s mother who was jumping for joy and waving her arms like she had just won the lottery. Not a good look.

re: The strange case of the disappearing white people
Posted by West Seattle Dude on 1/14/26 at 5:49 pm to Wally Sparks
Asians make up about 45% of the population of San Jose which has very low rate of gun violence. In Seattle, Asians are 18% to 20% of the population. The Seattle suburb of Bellevue, which used to be 97% white, is heavily Asian and Indian. Tech had been a game-changer in Seattle/Eastside demographics.

Weir was a longtime fitness buff who would go for runs while touring. I also read that he stopped taking acid in the late 60s during the 710 Ashbury St. days.
