Serious question. Why would anyone think his path at Ole Miss would have been any different than everywhere else (especially how he left Tennessee)?

The documentary and some of the other stuff he has been on like a few podcasts genuinely made him seem like a new guy and likable. He lost a bunch of weight and changed his tone, wasn't really having these weird altercations/interactions with people like he used to anymore.

But basically all that ended up being is him trying to set himself up for a bigger job. When he didn't get Bama he realized a lot of the baggage was why... so he hid it in the closet. The closet door broke off the hinges this week.

Yes. Ole Miss knew exactly what they were getting when they hired him. But they were desperate for success and Lane delivered that to them. He brought their program out of irrelevancy and made them a player on the national scene.

It was always going to end this way. If it wasn't LSU, it would have been Florida this year. And if it wasn't either of them this year it would have eventually been Alabama when they inevitably fire Deboer. The bottom line is Ole Miss was never a destination job for Kiffin and won't be for any highly successful coach that doesn't have personal ties to Mississippi.

Alabam left him at the GA Dome. He was holding everyone up because he was on the phone with an Owl recruit.

I had thought maybe he had matured, but I guess not. So happy we didn't get him!!

The same thing we all think when we date the hot, crazy, troubled girl...

"I can fix her"

Inevitably we're wrong, but we're nonetheless going to enjoy the ride while it lasts!

The absolute funniest thing in all this is when DeBoer hauls arse in 2 years, maybe 3....Bama will come calling and Kiffin will fly out of Baton Rouge...probably leaving his wife AND dog behind.

But he will pray about it.

when they hired him the general sentiment was..."we know he's going to leave but let's have fun while he's here"

Then they had fun, he left and they lost their ever loving fricking minds.

He improved himself not for the sake of becoming a better person, but to get the things he wanted. Once he had them he immediately went back to how he used to be. You do see how that is different than someone just turning their life around....... right?

Exactly. It's like that in 99.5% of all high level corporate jobs.

Coaching is no different.

...

A&M fans are hoping DeBoer leaves Alabama and we hire Kiffin?

How does that benefit them?

When did kiffin get fat?

It must've been at fau.

I didn't remember his being fat when he got to Ole Miss but after looking at pics he was.

He must've been drinking and eating like crazy.
