Looks like going forward you've got to win your conference to get in

No more exceptions.
This has been a bit of a change from season's past. Going forward, if you don't win your conference, you won't be getting in.
So, no more backdoor slots for you Alabama or Ohio State.

So, the back door dynasty really is over.

It just kinda worked out that way this year. I wouldn't read too much into it.

I don't know about that. The way they ranked the rest of the teams, they didn't give a shite about eye test. It was all about resume. It's about fricking time. You should not get in just because you're Alabama. Just saying.

Only 1 P5 conference champion lost an OOC game....Yes, Oklahoma looked like shite the last few weeks, but they won their conference and didn't lose an OOC game

I dunno... but the fact is both times Alabama got in without winning the conference, Alabama won National Championships so, gfy

Bama is in for quite a backlash and rude awakening going forward. The way their fans, the media and their coach openly campaign for mulligans...it got to the point that they weren't even waiting for things to play out. Gary Danielson started Bama's mulligan campaign before the LSU game was even over. They were all poised to use the late td when the game was already over as the cornerstone.
The country is sick of it. Bama better get their shite together because the recruiting domination is over. Its a lot closer now. And they will no longer be given every benefit of the doubt from the media and committee. Good times.

FIFY. There's no way they would have left a 12-1 Clemson or a 12-1 Ohio State that just lost their conference title game out.

I think LSU wouldve stayed in had they lost

Melt, bitch
And if LSU goes 11-1 next year with its only loss to Alabama, and the ACC, Big 12, and PAC all have 2 or 3 loss champions you think LSU should be left out?

There were just no one loss non champs. That’s all

LSU would probably have been 4th ranked if lost narrowly to UGA and UGA might be #4 now if LSU had been their only loss. Don't think your conclusion is supported by the evidence.

92% of playoff teams have won their conference. This isn't some new revelation.

but...there are exceptions. Always. If the 4th spot comes down to a 2-loss weak P5 champion against a very strong 1-loss non-champ, that non-champ has a good chance to go. We've seen it twice. This year hasn't changed anythign.

Nothing supports that.
Yes, all 4 teams in won their conferences. But had Georgia won or Ohio State or Clemson lost by say... 3 points, then you wouldn't have to win your conference to get in.

you've never had to win your conference to get in. But if you dont' win your conference, you need multiple other P5 conferences to have 2 losses. Nothing has changed from last year to now in how the commitee selects.
