Wasn't it scholly limits that started evening things out? I'll let the experts chime in on that instead of me (not an expert)

Things have never evened out. Aggie went 10-1 from 84-94, when they started handing out bags and getting put on probation every other year. Texas dominated the series both before and after that.

I always love tsips talking about Aggies paying players as if they were these saints of propriety. You are such little bitches.

During the lifetime of anyone posting on this forum, the series is essentially even. Is it really productive to micro-analyze relative success earlier than that?

Is it productive to look at anything other than the entirety of the series, or the last 10-25 years?

So then you admit you are Vandy's bitch then?

All you've seen is parity in the Lone Star Showdown, pendejo. Unless you're crazy old or relatively young. Series is .500 since I've been alive, and I'm in my late 30s. Flex all the pre-integration, pre-scholarship limit, leather helmet Ws when TAMU was a glorified Texan Citadel you want. Ain't gonna help y'all one iota on Black Friday.

Hope A&M beats the frick outta y'all tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving

Nobody today gives a shite about A&Ms title in 1939.

Just like nobody today gives a shite about Minnesota's 6 national championships.

Just like nobody gives a shite that Texas racked up a ton of wins when our grandparents listened on wooden radios.

And my grandparents wouldn't have even been allowed to play.

The rivalry is still getting back to what it was. Honestly losing Bonfire (though Student Bonfire still exists) took a lot of the luster off of it making it unique. No other rivalry had anything close to that.

You still have about 1.1 million alumni of both schools and 120k current students playing a game of the 2 wealthiest public schools in the country that are 90 miles apart and started playing in 1894. Virtually every song and tradition at both schools revolve around the other school and they have so much bad blood and hate far beyond the football field it can't be remotely measured.

don't be dramatic. we hate losing to each other but we live and work and interact at family events just fine.

Agreed. Let’s keep it in the 21st century. Texas leads 10-3. Pretty much the same clip as the wooden radio days.

There is a 1,700 page on surlyhorns about the Aggies. OU is like 70-something.
If your neighbor on one side is normal and the other neighbor is a jizz jar chugging, nut grabbing, gay freak, who are you going to talk about? So, yeah.

I have dear friends who are Aggies. I have Aggies in my family. There is no hate there.

It’ll be a good game, and im looking forward to it.

Reminds me LSU/ Bama though. LSU wants the rivalry to be bigger than it is. Bama’s biggest rivalry is AU, just as Texas’ is Oklahoma.

I'm not talking about people hating each other, I'm talking about how the schools have been rivals in everything outside of football as well and all of the shenanigans. It's very unusual to have a state with 2 true Flagship schools that operate in opposition in most things. The culture of the schools are also very different though over the last couple of decades the differences are less pronounced.

I've never had any issue with any Texas grad btw but plenty of issues with complete asshats that are sidewalk fans and went to Texas State or the like. Grads of both schools understand they are both outstanding schools that are elite as Public Universities. Most Ivies are poorer than both schools and that doesn't count their additional state funding beyond the endowments. Both have absolutely insane facilities and resources and volumes of successful alumni. Texas has a slightly higher rating in most areas but Aggies have higher salaries after graduation and a stronger network. It's all

I was quite happy not playing the game but it seems the horns had to follow us to the SEC like jilted bitches and beg to reinstate it.

Stop it again. I don't give a shite. So, certainly not a rivalry in my mind.

And during the years (of the 21st century) that we did not play one another, we had the better team, with the better record, against better competition.

Can you honestly opine that the Aggies would not have dominated the Strong and Herman 'horns, if the teams would have played during those years?

So how many victories would you like added to the Aggies side of the ledger? This is a comical argument. You had a chance last year to prove how much you’d separated from us in the SEC. shite the bed as usual. We’ll see you tomorrow for more of the same. You know it’s coming.
