re: Just a reminder at how cringey Tom Herman was as Texas’ HC
Posted by DawgHorns on 1/14/22 at 11:44 pm
Herman was a good coach at Texas. They went from above average to dumpster fire since he's been fired. He would be a smart hire for pretty much any school, cringe be damned.

Stop what? All the material he's had Steelers should have 3 rings since he's been there. Basically the Bobby Cox of pro football. Pay attention to the games over the yrs & anyone can see terrible in game coach especially with clock management. Let's see what he can do with his own QB now.
Belichick/brady has given you brain worms. Historically 1 ring and a few deep playoff runs is what you can expect a fantastic coach and a franchise QB to give you. There are other good coaches/QBs in the league, they can't ALL win the Superbowl every other year. This Steelers team being anywhere close to the playoffs is astounding.

AFC was wild this season.
re: Geez Cleveland is so bad

I think the Browns have shot themselves letting Baker play while this injured. I think Doctors told him he needed season ending shoulder surgery like 6 weeks ago and thats on top of knee issues. They might permanently break him just so he can be bad.

I'm sure the bowl games were more exciting back then back that was a terrible method of finding a national champion. No 1 vs. 2 matchup, just a random assortment of the good teams and the title goes to whoever has the most media hype.
re: Trevor Lawrence is really struggling

Other QBs in bad situations didn't look this bad. Kyler with the 2019 Cardinals was good. Burrow with 2020 Bengals. Both #1 overall picks drafted to teams just as bad the Jags. Hell, INJURED GARDNER MINSHEW ON THE 2020 JAGS LOOKED BETTER than T-LAW is right now. 2019 Minshew with the Jags was on another planet compared with Lawrence right now.
Yeah he has time to turn it around but I'm not afraid to say I think he's going to be the next Ryan Leaf.

Trey Lance has been hurt..
I watched his first start. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn throwing so they ran him up the middle nearly 20 times. Jimmy G is just so much better at this point that giving up so much to get Lance feels questionable.
re: The relationship between Urban Meyer and his players/assistants is deteriorating.

You don't bench your best player for a single fumble, especially when the guy behind him is Carlos Hyde.
re: The relationship between Urban Meyer and his players/assistants is deteriorating.

Urban walked into basically the same situation at Jacksonville that Kliff Kingsbury walked into at Arizona. I actually like this Jags roster quite a bit more than what the Cards had in 2019.
Just comparing their year one's so far, Coach bro is far better. I'd like to compare their year 3's, If Urban even makes it to year 3.

re: Stetson Bennett wasn't playing defense

I honestly think Bennett is better than Daniels. Yeah Daniels has a cannon of an arm but I dont think he knows how to read defenses very well.

Too short? Who's been fired of late that didn't deserve it?
If coaches like O and Mullen were allowed to continue those programs would be set back for years. The leash is where it should be.
Its starting to look like Herman didnt deserve to be fired by Texas after a 3 loss season during the COVID year.

Their schedule is suspect.
They don't control their destiny. And shouldn't.
But there arent any amazing teams this year. Every single top team is suspect in some way or another. Why not let the Cinderella have a shot? I think UGA beats them but I don't think Ohio State or OU blows them out.
re: Texas football through 8 games

I was a Herman believer and so far the team looks worse under Sark. It's not just about losing seniors, players that looked good last year look terrible this year.

JJ Watt is out?
Tweaked his shoulder. Coaching staff is just being cautious given his long injury history. Probably would be playing if this game was on Sunday instead of Thursday.
Hopkins is also a game time decision, but no one is worried since Hopkins never misses games.
The big story is the the Cardinals backup center is a game time decision. I'm not so sure the offense thrives if the 3rd stringer has to make his debut vs. the Packers.
re: Arizona Cardinals 17-0?
Posted by DawgHorns on 10/27/21 at 7:12 pm
I think its possible depending on injury luck. JJ Watt isnt playing Thursday vs. the Packers so their run defense will be really bad tomorrow. It would be hilarious if Kliff Kingsbury had a perfect regular season in the NFL

The slurs will get the headlines, but don’t let it go uncelebrated that he sent a topless picture of a Redskin cheerleader to Bruce Allen
Now I think the next question is whether this young lady posed for it and consented to it being published, but I don’t think we’ll get that far
I just assumed they were from the island trip where the redskins cheerleaders werent allowed to wear their tops and weren't allowed to leave.

Sark must hitting the bottle again if he thinks it could have "easily" gone a different direction due to QB play. His pathetic defense gave up 333 rushing yards and 460+ total yards to the team with the worst record in the SEC West last year. Sark has been completely mediocre at every place he has been head coach. I think he's a good OC, but as a head coach, he hasn't shown me anything.
Yeah nothing changes that defense. But the first Texas QB was consistently bailing on clean pockets to run straight into the arms of a defender when they were only rushing 3.

You arent remembering that case correctly. In retrospect Kobe's case was just as open and shut guilty as Watson's and he still got the public to forget about it.
Watson may still have a chance to be a legend. Big Ben's allegations were worse.

lol this is small potatoes. They don't even want to know what we're doing in the SEC
