Because it's part of the second most watched sport in the United States (NFL being first) being played by players who represent my home state's flagship university. And a good many of the big stars on the team will be starting in the NFL this time next year. You can't say the same thing about college baseball and the Show.
Sure I can. LSU has a bunch of local boys representing my state's flagship university on the biggest stage in the collegiate level of the sport, many of them will go on to play in the MLB and further represent LSU
Gumps have a storied baseball program, stop shitting on the sport just to be a douche. Just don't post in these threads since you're just being toxic

Well...on MLB The Show, if your player doesn't get drafted high enough, you have the option of going to college to better yourself so you don't fail out of the draft the next time around.
These LSU players all got drafted but (more than likely) didn't get drafted high enough where the minors would be worth their time. So they went to college to hone their skills so, upon graduation, they can go in the upper rounds.

That's pretty cool. Didn't know they had the option to play college ball if they didn't get drafted high enough. Very cool.

Isn't the University of Louisiana the flagship university in Louisiana.
I may be wrong here but that was what I was led to believe

Not nearly as many as will go on from LSU to play in the NFL.

A lot of these guys didn't get drafted.
Some got drafted late as a courtesy and the teams have no intention of signing them.
Some (the legit prospects) had dollar amounts that they made teams aware of before the draft. Tennessee for example has a kid who was a freshman this year whose dad made it perfectly clear he wasn't signing for less than $1.3M.
He would have been drafted likely between 50-100 in last year's draft if he was signable but since his number was so high he slipped to the 16th round and the Yankees knew they wouldn't be able to sign him unless one of their top 10 round picks had a deal fall through and they had extra money.
Vandy has a lot of kids on the roster like that.
Since the overslot rules I believe over 99.5% of the players picked in the first 10 rounds have signed. If a team takes a kid in those first 10 rounds numbers have already been exchanged and agreed to.

Giving an upvote to OP.
Baseball, IMO even more than Basketball, is the sport where size of a school doesn't matter one bit when the two teams match up on the field. Anything can happen during a game.
I'd be happier than a puppy with two peckers if I was in the CWS finals.

It doesn't. It's barely a niche sport. The only reason LSU does so well at it is because the vast majority of schools don't try at it and don't care. LSU was getting hammered in the big sport, football, in the 90's, so they decided to throw an idiotic amount of resources, and put retarded emphasis on it. They figured out since no one else really tried at college baseball, that if they did, they could be better than everyone else at it by default.
Now they pretend it's a big time college sport and want it to be recognized as significant.
Threads like this prove it. It's sort of pitiful that they are so insecure that they need college baseball to be important to the rest of college sports fans.

It's not jealousy when you genuinely don't care.

I'm not on an LSU website. As a matter of FACT, the SEC Rant was created for me.
