Listened to the AL game on radio. I still miss Eli. He was Gold.

Your crew is good nothing against them, but I really miss Eli.

It was a fricking shame how he was treated by the shitheads at UA at the end of his career. Stewart is good , but he ain't Eli and never will be.

Eli Gold and Jack Cristil are the best college radio announcers of all time.

It wasn't Manning.

"Eli Gold and Jack Cristil are the best college radio announcers of all time."
You left out John Ward (TN) and Larry Munson (GA).

Munson was the best, period - and thats coming from a confirmed UGa hater
loved Cristil, even though he was a tier below Munson
Fyffe at AU and Gold at Bama were up there, despite major homerism
Never really like Ward at UTee, but i can see why Vols loved him
the longtime guy at UF was pretty good as well, although his name escapes me at the moment

My favorite of Jack’s announcing wasn’t a play but a PSA in between plays. It was in the 4th quarter of a close game and Jack does a PSA. Pretty much said this: “7:40 left in the game as the bulldogs lead and will try to keep the clock moving. Speaking of it getting late, be careful driving home, folks. Remember, Mississippi highways or die ways, it’s your choice. This message brought to you by the Mississippi Dept of Public Safety.”
I thought what a morbid mood killer in the last few minutes of a close game.

A coach named Bear, with announcer named Gold and a million dollar band at halftime. Those were the days

You misspelled John Ward.

As a Bama grad and lifelong fan, I say, good riddance to Eli. How would you like Mickey Mouse announcing your games? We rarely got the score and never got the time.

He got to where he told you more about Golden Flake than he did where the ball was spotted and how much time was left. He was great in his prime, but he ventured off a lot
