I would put Kiffin in the top 5 but he won’t be at Ole Miss long enough for us to see the fruits of his labor.

Kirby has the best resume outside of Saban in terms of SEC play. He’s the only one in that list other than Saban who has actually won the conference

Did Kirby win the conference in 2019??? I can’t remember

Saban is far above the rest

Next tier is Fisher, Kirby, and Mullen

Next is Orgeron simply because you should NEVER go 5-5 with LSU’s talent base. Above the rest because he recruited that talent base which counts for something

Some promising coaches like Kiffin, Stoops, and Drink

I guess 2016 with a Top 10 finish and beating 6th ranked Michigan in the Orange Bowl is nothing? Dawg Logic.

In my top 5, I'm giving points to HCs who can recruit and not always who are some of the worst gameday decision-makers. It is college football and talent covers a multitude of sins.

1 - Nick Saban

2 - Dan Mullen

3 - Jimbo Fisher

4 - Kirby (not always so) Smart.

5 - Lane Kiffin

MetryTyger - perhaps you misunderstood the question? We didn't ask who the worst coaching staff is

He never was at UGA! If he was there he would be in multi championship games by now!

So, you have nothing? because Kiffin has done nothing? Georgia has nothing to do with it.

he has had 3 good years as a college coach, and two of those years were at Florida Atlantic. At any kind of major University his beat year was 2011 at USC when he went 10-2.

His record as a P5 coach is: 40-39. And in your mind he is a top 5 coach.

What indicates that he would be successful anywhere else? (You brought up Georgia)

Think everyone is confusing playing the eventual national champions close with being a great head coach. Mullen’s “best Florida team” just went 8-4. I’m still confused with how people see Mullen as a top coach.

With a name like FireDanMullen that opinion isn't much of a surprise. Personally, I think Mullen is somewhere in the second tier way underneath Saban.

List didn’t include Orgeron. Please read OP thoroughly and comprehend before posting. Thanks.

We had 2 very bad head coaches after Meyer, now that we have a mediocre head coach ppl actually believe this guy is good. He’s not.

In the last 30 years, 4 programs have won national titles in 2 out of 3 years. Florida is one of them. No one should be content with Mullen going 8-4.

Then why Mullen at 2? He’s never been a great recruiter.

I really don't think any of you know how hard it is to lose what LSU lost after the 19' season. I don't even know if Alabama could have overcame that amount of a loss!

Hell just take Smith off of this years Alabama team and it makes you really think if they would have been the same team! Now take Smith and Harris off(Chase & CEH) and now keep taking them off. Leatherwood, Dickerson, Moses, etc and on and on.

5-5 is pathetic, no matter what the losses. You have more talent than any team not named Alabama or Georgia. That was a massive coaching failure

Almost as bad as what Jumbo did to Florida State.
