It's not the same. I'm comparing coaches to similar points in their career. The five years vs. eight is arbitrary, because I'm not sure why the eighth year is the cutoff for comparison
Why aren't you comparing the program they coached at similar points? It makes FAR more sense.

am assuming that, because that's what every coach eventually does
Saban,Dooley,Osborne,Paterno,Bowden and even Coach O ALL had their best years after their first 5 years .

1. Saban
2. CEO
3. Smart
4. Fisher
5. Stoops/Mullen
People can argue that Ed is too high but his record bs every other coach outside of Saban speaks for itself.

I guess I will never understand this. Kiffen has not been successful at any point of his career as a HC. Why would he be #2? based upon what?

Why was that the decided metric? Why not Kirby's five vs. Richt's last five, if you're going to compare Kirby to end-game Richt? Their body of work overall suggests they're fairly similar coaches. Maybe Kirby will prove that wrong in the next year or two. Until then, I don't know why there's so much mental gymnastics going on to try and prove that Georgia, by results, hasn't made an even trade for head coach quality.
Your point still lacks complete substance. Pointing out their first 5 seasons means they’re the same coach is not a great point. You should go check out some very good head coaches first 5 seasons; a lot of them will surprise you. Frank Beamer is a hall of fame coach who had 4 losing seasons in his first 6. Gary Pinkel had several losing seasons in his first 6 seasons. Richt had early success and never sustained it. UGA was a shell of itself from the early 2000s by the time Richt was hanging it up. Now I don’t personally believe Kirby will ever get it done but he is very young and has done well. Clear flaws though but many coaches get better as they get older. Plus UGA was like 12-24 against top 10 teams under richt and Kirby is something like 11-6. The program is clearly better under Kirby than richt. That being said, if Kirby can’t learn to coach better UGA will never win shite.

1. Saban
2. Dabo
3. Day
4. OU Coach
5. Coach 0 (not really but he won a title so here for now)
SEC is full lame coaches. Only Saban matters so national is better

is this like rantards saying burrow wasn't even a top 5 sec qb before the 2019 season?

What is LSU's record vs Alabama the last 10 years? 1-9 in case you forgot
good grief this place

these lists are always the same every year. no one states their criteria first and then justifies it. that's where the real argument is. what TO YOU makes a good coach

Florida hasn’t beaten Alabama in 12 years, Georgia in 13 years. What’s your point here supposed to be? Alabama has dominated the entire conference for over a decade, news at 11

2. Jimbo
Jimbo hasn't done anything meaningful as a coach since 2014
What was Texas A&M like before Jimbo? Much worst! Now he is slowly making changes and it is working. Will he get it done in the next couple of years? I do not know. We will have to wait and see. Kirby haven't done much since he had his chance repeatedly and failed each time!

If Orgeron deserves to be on the list because he won a title, then why is the Oklahoma coach on the list? His team gets trucked every time they play an SEC team. Same thing for Day.

Will Muschamp is now on his staff! Not on field though but still he will pitch in all he can to help Kirby ether to get it done or go bust!

Yes I'm a homer, but O does have a national championship. Just like he is responsible for the bad season this year, he deserves credit for 2019 as well. He has to crack top 5 considering he won coach of the year in 2019
Yeah but it says right now.
I feel like there's certainly 5 SEC coaches any team would want to hire before Orgeron, and OP definitely listed 5.
