Probably yes. But should see a national Championship in track and field at least for the men.

Pretty sure they are in some volleyball-specific conference for that. Don't only 1 or 2 other SEC schools do that sport?

Kind of like Alabama/Tennessee in rowing and Missouri in wrestling.

The fact that this is a "down" year for Florida and they would finish with a Top 15 Director's Cup and Top 2-3 SEC All Sports just shows how incredibly that athletic department is.

Florida has had the best all around athletic program in the SEC for a while. Impressive

Yes I absolutely would. For all the other sports combined? shite yes I would take all the other sports over Football and Basketball. That would be amazing to me.

I see what you mean. But me personally I’d take titles in football and basketball over the other sports all day long

Great overall athletic year for Arkansas. While football is still down, they certainly showed improvement and hope for the future.

Now baseball needs to cap the sports calendar year off right and all will be well.

While the title game happened this year etc, I guess I will be the only person who always considers football seasons/championships as the year of the season rather than the calendar date of the final game.

Maybe it's just because the games were played sooner and on new years for the majority of my life, rather than a week or 2 into Jan which is ridiculous.

To me, it's a 2020 Championship.

The other three with zero make sense but this one is crazy.

Makes about as much sense as Arkansas with 8 in one year.

I agree it is a 2020 title. I don't know what your point is? Unless you thought I was referring to the year 2021?

Let me update the title and maybe that will help.

Probably need to check your math on that one. Arkansas is usually good for 4-6 a year just off track and cross country alone.

It's a very impressive feat for a smaller school. Even State has had a pretty good calender year or two in the last decade, and they never really cared about ancillary sports until Byrne and Stricklin got here a started investing in them.

Ah, I glossed over the academic part previously. But yeah.

It's really not so much about this thread as it is something I've been seeing more and more lately.

Are you talking about the championship game being in 2021 and people saying you won a title in 2021? I feel the same way. We need to back that champ game up to December 31st so I can keep shite straight.

I think this is actually a problem for Stricklin. May not matter at most schools, but UF is likely to lose the SEC All Sports trophy consecutively for the first time ever. In real danger of not finishing in the top 10 of the Directors Cup for the first time in its existence. While it shows the success of the program as you say, also highlights the expectations. Given the in-state talent, resources, academics and all the other intangibles the expectation is all around excellence. Despite what Stricklin has done on the facility front, already starting to hear the grumblings.
