Judging a team's schedule before week 1 is stupid. We have very little idea how good or bad ANY of these team's will be. Texas' schedule is almost identical to their schedule last year, and we joked about how easy it was this time last year. Now it's tough?

Who cares? Let's make the SEC title game again.

The Ohio St game in Columbus is brutal. It’s not a must win, but a loss leaves you with only one hiccup left going into the SEC schedule unless you win the SEC. See LSU under BK. The committee has already established that 3 loss SEC teams will be passed over by drastically inferior schools as long as they have 1 fewer loss.

After Texas beats everyone then it will be reclassified as "easy"

Pretty much every other SEC team who plays an SEC schedule?
To put it in perspective Texas plays (from 2024)...
SEC
#1
#9
#10
#11
#12
#13
#15
#16
eight games... places add up to 87. Average opponent is in 10.875 place.
They miss SEC
#3
#4
#5
#6
#7
#8
#14
Seven teams... Adds up to 47. Average non-opponent 6.7 place

I have to admit. I get a kick out of thumbing through the SEC schedule, just to see all the absolute no-name schools that these vaunted SEC schools play. Always trying to backdoor a championship.
I must have learned two dozen new schools in our first SEC year. I still don't know WTH Furman is.

LSU played Texas at Austin in 2019.

We have Ohio State scheduled in the future and opened last season against a playoff team. And of course beat you twice.
