Not even border neighbors North Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Virginia, and Georgia believe that Tennessee is the real UT.

Tennessee is UTK. Texas is UTA. If anyone can lay claim to UT, it’s Tennessee since they’ve been around longer. Texas quit being referred to UT in 1967.

The people who hate them the most do. Who you gonna believe?

Why wouldn’t you just want to refer to the University of Texas as Texas?

Arkansas is the only state that borders both Texas and Tennessee.

I rest my case.

I think the best and most obvious question is, who actually gives a frick?

I’ve always referred to Tenn as Tennessee. Then again, I’ve always referred to Texas as Texas. Neither one is really a “monogram” school per se in my thoughts. However, I do refer to bother SoCar and Southern Cal as USC, so I guess it is just about how the letters roll off the tongue… and U T just doesn’t.

I grew up in Louisiana and UT was Tennessee, but that's just rarely said by us in Louisiana. We'll say either Tennessee or Texas. Or Texass, as I prefer.

Sorry but from that map it appears that Utah is actually "UT".

Tennessee is the real UT. Case closed. Don't be coming in here with all that.

Who was UT first? Pretty easy debate to solve.

Let’s just see what UT.edu takes you to ….

University of Tampa.

Looks like you both lose.
