Let's discuss artificial noisemakers

I get that the SEC let State have artificial noisemakers, because "iTs OuR tRaDiTiOn", however - they should have been penalized (according to the rules) last night for ringing those stupid things when the ball was set. It's really time for the SEC to outright ban artificial noisemakers, period. The officials didn't throw a flag when they should have (not surprising), and it was impacting the game. Lane even brought it up during his post-game conference. This will probably be an item that will get discussed this offseason and I wouldn't be surprised to see the conference outright ban them across the entire conference, since the officials nor the University can follow the rules for them.

For the love of god just randomly hit “return” every other sentence

quote:So you haven't watched any games on the ESPN family of stations this year? Piped in music ruins the broadcast when it's louder than the announcers. The cowbell is not my favorite but if we rang it when we weren't supposed to, we will get fined. I didn't notice it because the crowd was so loud until we kept stepping on our dick.

1. They tried a few years ago. It's not manageable.
2. You won.
2. You won.

Agreed. I’ve been saying for years that other teams should start doing it. The SEC would ban it with a quickness then.

It is what it is but it makes watching a game in Starkville miserable. Thank God for the mute button.

At the start of the game, I explained to my father-in-law how they couldn’t ring them after the ball was set. But later in the game, they were ringing them with reckless abandon during the QB’s count, and the refs did absolutely nothing. I was honestly surprised.

The handful of times I have been I could hear ringing in my head for a couple of days after. I guess you get used to it, but I honestly can’t understand how State fans would want cowbells either.

How about banning any noise making device or technique that disrupts or has the potential to disrupt play on the field.
Goodbye cowbells and Vandy whistler(s).
Until they do this, SEC teams’ fans should bring air horns to State football games and Vandy baseball games.

They only bother me once every two years. But then I realize how funny and redneck it makes their stadium and fanbase look and I get over it. I agree that last night, they didn’t “ring responsibly” and the refs should have stepped in, but instead our football team did…

They were ringing them with reckless abandon beginning with Ole Miss’ first drive.
Let’s be honest here. Allowing cowbells into the stadium and expecting drunk State fans not to ring them all night long is like legalizing meth in trailer parks and not expecting the crime that follows. Reptile brain gonna reptile brain.

What they should ban is pussy arse bitch DL men who fake injuries. Oh well. Both MS schools go to meaningless bowl games again.

Some fans never let up ringing. The crowd doesn’t sound loud on tv except for the bells.

I just don't understand why the other SEC teams don't use artificial noise makers ONLY when they play against MSU.

I guess when your stadium seats 40k noise is a new concept for the game day experience.
But the cowbells and Vandy whistler both suck.
