I’m no Aggie fan, but their AP title cannot be argued. It’s legit. Several seasons featured several undefeated teams with a gripe to be called champions but the AP and/or UPI can only choose one.

so they ran from 1939 National Champions Tennessee, LSU in the 90s, Big Brother Texas in 2012, and Wake Forest in 2021.
The hits keep coming.
But they do have that victory over Bama with their fearless leader Calzone

aggy is the Nickelback of College Football. They are not a leader of men, they prefer to follow.

Why did undefeated, untied, and unscored on Tennessee have to travel to California to play the No. 3 team in country, when Texas 8&4 got to play a lesser ranked team closer to home?

Now Come on, man. All the got to do is the bama thing and claim them in the media guide.
It’s called retroclaiming.

They finished the regular season No. 1 in the AP Poll, and Tennessee was No. 2. Both teams were 10-0 in the regular season.
Since those two teams didn't face off in the bowl game, we will never know who was the better team.
So, to be clear, Texas 8&4 has NO legit football titles.
Fun Note: The 1939 Vols were also the last team in NCAA history to go undefeated, untied, and unscored upon in the regular season.
Doesn't that call into question LSU's 2003 title since they didn't face USC in the title game?

Ergo by official decree from King Chicken of Tigerdroppings. Texas A&M will no longer be acknowledged as champions of 1939. Let it be so written and recognized on this January 11th in the year of our lord 2022. Non compliant subjects will be banished to the soccer board.

No, because we didn’t duck USC like we all know aggy did UT that year.

Let me preface this by saying that the BCS, started in 1998, was the best thing that happened to college football. It forced the top 2 teams to play each other in their final game of the season. Prior to that, the bowl alliances most often kept fans of the sport from seeing the top 2 teams play each other in the final game. As a matter of fact, from 1936 to 1997, the AP No. 1 and 2 teams only faced off in bowl games 11 times. This is where the phrase Mythical National Champion comes from.
Therefore, I contend that, prior to the first BCS Title game in 1998, if the top 2 teams at the end of the regular season did not face off in a bowl game, then we will never know if the team that was arbitrarily awarded the title that season was really the best team. For the purposes of my argument, I will use the AP rankings from 1936 to 1997, and the BCS rankings from 1998 to 2013. Of course, the winner of the CFB playoff, started in 2014, is a legit title winner.

In 2003, the top two teams after the regular season were LSU and Oklahoma.

Hold on now Aggies, this is what it looked like before y’all joined the SEC and claimed 2 more championships:

They would have never made this claim, if Jarrin John were still alive.
