I wonder how many Georgians aren't really shitting directly into the streams...but have shite their pants and washed them in the stream.

God, how nasty. shite flowing through campus.

It's almost like you read the article... Until it wasn't...

quote:

Before the students began, they speculated that they might see higher levels of E. coli contamination on UGA football game weekends, when tens of thousands of visitor flood the UGA campus. Sampling over two football seasons didn’t show that, though.

quote:

The analysis suggests the contamination is coming from leaks in sewer pipes somewhere upstream along the streams’ courses, said Kelly Strachan and Rishika Pandey, two of the UGA students. Further testing within the streams might help find where the pollution is coming from, they said.

Sooo... It's like no one is doing any of that shite, and instead there are infrastructure problems... Which is not uncommon in the south in general where these problems are swept under the rug as long as possible.

Isn't there like an open air sewer trench in Alabama somewhere?

If you've ever eaten a hamburger or hot dog at a Georgia home game you'd know there will never be a gas shortage there. In emergencies we go to The Varsity for a chili cheese dog.

They sampled Tanyard Creek at two places, at the Tate Student Center where it flows under the football stadium

"Professor Karls later determined that all of the fecal material had the same identical DNA.
Using PCR primers targeting 16S rRNA gene sequence, she matched the coliform bacteria with a sample present on the 2017 SEC championship field. She then determined that the fecal material originated from the University of Auburn football team, since they have been shitting their pants in Sanford stadium since 2007".

That's nearly 10 years old. I was there last year for a couple of games and saw nothing like this on the North Campus.

No more trash on north campus. Instead, they're trashing Meyers Quad. There aren't enough garbage cans so people just throw their crap on the ground. The University needs to step in again.

At least they aren't like Ole Miss. If they didn't spill their drinks so much, they wouldn't have to eat cold chicken fingers.

You're such a stick in the mud & lack a sense of humor. Don't take everything so seriously.

I laugh at plenty of things here... you simply aren't that funny. You seem to like to attempt to maintain an heir of superiority around these parts when really you're a below average poster at best with shitty trolls. Sorry to rain on your parade. Hope your neighbor shits down your yard elephant's throat at the next opportunity.

Are you really interpreting the fact that the creek running under Stanford Stadium is now shite Creek because you UG leghumpers are shitting in it before/after games?

Yeah, I was the one who interpreted it that way...

"It's like they're just shitting everywhere up there & they can't blame it on the animals. The four-legged kind anyway. "

Sorry to point out that not only were you incorrect as posted in the link you cited, but that the great state of Alabama has worse problems with shite in your waterways.

When did you make changes? Campus still looked trashed after the game when I went in 2015.

I'll tell you the biggest root of the problem and it aint the fans...it's out cheapass administration's complete lack of foresight into giving people the proper tools they need to keep the area clean. Many (hell, most) schools provide AMPLE trash cans and dumpsters in high tailgate areas for starters. Furthermore many actually hire (novel concept I know!) cleaning crews to go around policing the area and emptying trash WHILE people tailgate, crazy! The era ending circa 2009, where all these pictures came from, resulted from THOUSANDS of people tailgating in one compact area on north campus where the school put out a handful of flimsy cardboard trash cans (with 1 bag in it) Saturday morning and didn't come back til Sunday afternoon. I mean FFS what do you expect to happen?

1993 Florida at LSU game.

I bought a ticket outside of Tiger Stadium from a very drunk guy that I think was an LSU fan. Good seats on the east side on about the 50 and 20+/- rows up.

The very drunk guy was sitting next to me cussing up a storm. He mentioned something about attending a game in Athens. Maybe LSU in 1991. Do not really know who played.

I asked him what the University of Georgia campus was like. The very drunk guy looked at me and without cussing or slurring he said, "That place is so clean, you could eat off the sidewalks."

That was a real complement to the University of Georgia coming from that guy.

Pregame tailgating (food and drink) has really increased over the past 25 years. Some people treat it like it's Mardi Gras with everything disposed of on the ground.
