lol..Lagway is deadly on deep passes. The best as a true freshman last season. Let me guess Arch looks great at those academies?

Let’s be honest, if roles were reversed, you’d be cranking out memes every hour.

Suppose A&M had a quarterback, who is considered a generational QB and a preseason Heisman front runner on the number one ranked team in the country… and was hyped up to Taylor Swift levels.

And then in the big game, on the big stage…. He goes out there slinging it like Uncle Rico and wildly missing his receivers.

That’s the shite sandwich you are eating

Ohio State is really freaking good too. It's time we all accept that fact.

My biggest concern is that Manning missed some easy throws. The very first throw of the game to a wide-open receiver foreshadowed the rest of the game. I kind of expected a couple of INT's, throwing into some double coverages, getting fooled on some looks.....but the missed easy passes were concerning.

No one gives a damn he was handed a lot of money without proving anything. Arch may turn it around against good competition but if he doesn't he will be known as the most overhyped player ever. His 5 star rating was entirely due to his name. Trying to think of someone hyped so much without showing anything yet. Maybe that soccer kid years ago Freddy Adu that they annointed like they have Arch.

There is no defense for Manning's performance. Manning was close to Sayin's completion % and Manning threw for almost 50 more yards.....but Sayin had a subpar day because of very accurate passes that were dropped. In the first half, Manning couldn't hit water from a boat.

IF, and this is a big IF, he plays well in victories over UF and OU, I will be willing to chalk it up to his first ever road start against arguably the most talented team in CFB.However, I would be shocked if Texas wins both of those games.

Here is the funky part. If Sark hadn't pulled his usual red zone shenanigans, even with all of the bad passes, we would be talking about a Texas victory and a gutsy performance in a tough environment by Manning. First down inside the 10 yard line twice that generated zero points.

Texas more than doubled OSU's rushing yards. We almost doubled them up for total yardage, and that is with OSU having the ball for 5 minutes more than Texas.

If I had told you before the game that Texas would hold Ohio State to 14 points and would more than double up their rushing yards, we would have all bet the farm on Texas. It took some extraordinary coaching screw-ups to sieze defeat from the jaws of victory under those circumstances.

Defense played well. Agreed. And I agree with most of what you wrote, except for this:

This is the usual cope we hear out of Austin, all too often. Rings of, “if Colt hadn’t gotten hurt.”

You have no idea what play calling OSU would have made if they didn’t have a 14-0 lead. Looks like they took the overly conservative approach with the lead, because they could afford to do that.

2003 Auburn went 8-5. 2018 Miami went 7-6. Ohio State is the defending national champs with the best DC in CFB. Context matters. Having said that, Texas still should have won the game. Failure to capitalize in the redzone continues to be an issue

How the frick do we get #1 overall recruit in nation with last name manning and he looks like he cant throw for shite, then OU gets transfer out of bum frick washington st. And he looks like fricking Baker Mayfield

Because we invested in a proven talent, and you invested in the hype of a last name that looks good on a depth chart and draws media attention.

What if I told you that this performance has nothing to do with your quarterback play?

No one is saying Texas is going to lose games. Plenty of marginal QBs have won national titles.

What we’re saying is that he’s not at all a weapon you think he is.

Don't be a moron. It was a pick em game. Texas outgained Ohio State 336 to 203. Sayin had 126 yards passing and 40 of them came on a 50/50 jumpball that was under thrown. Ohio State averaged 2.3 ypc and gave up 170 yards on the ground. Nerves got the better of Arch, but to act like Texas laid an egg is just ignorance. It was an evenly matched game, Ohio State converted their 4th and 1 at the goal line, Texas did not

I don't love his release tbh, but we also watched Tebow dominate the SEC with a freaking baseball release and some of the worst mechanics in CFB history. It was very reminiscent of Peyton vs those early to mid 2000's Pats defenses. Always looked panicked with happy feet

So one of my close friends is first cousins with Eli and Peyton. Z was told that DJ was the worst QB at Manning Academy this summer. Take that for what it’s worth.

Lagway wasn’t at the Manning Passing Academy in 2024 or 2025.

You’ve posted this garbage in multiple threads now - stop spreading lies and BS.

Like it or not, the Texas defense is really good. We went out and got a really good punter, who is arguably the prmary reason the game stayed close.

I am very honest about our prospects. Of our games at UGA, at UF and neutral field against OU, I will be pleased if we win one of them. 9-3 is our ceiling if eveything goes right the rest of the year. We may very well end up 8-4. 7-5 is possible...and it is all because Arch is probably a game-manager who can run a little bit. We aren't winning any QB shootouts this year.

I'm way more likely to judge a person making millions poorly if they're doing the thing they are making said millions to do they are, well, doing poorly.

You get paid millions to do a job, you better damn well be REALLY good at said job. How many folks get a CEO job paying millions AND two years being trained by the previous CEO first?

You didn’t score a single point until the fourth quarter. Not even one. And even that score was a crazy long throw jump ball that was very a fortunate catch. A good catch but not a controlled methodical march of gained yardage.

You’ve got a great defensive unit. But your offense isn’t scaring anyone.

Arch Manning has been put in an impossible situation by the media hype machine

People here in Louisiana tried to warn everybody that Arch wasn't even the best QB in the state his senior year much less the best in the country.

quote:

I credit his family for doing what they could to shield him from it,

Because the family probably knew the same as all of us in the state, he played horrible against any team with talent here in high school.
