Let me rephrase it..

Whoever follows Saban cannot live up to the expectations and will wilt. They all want to be the 2nd coach after Saban, not the first.

Alabama would still be hiring and firing coaches if Saban had not fallen into their lap in 2007.

He’d be such a fool to leave Oregon. He has it made up here, Eugene is awesome, world class facilities, and not even 1/10th the pressure

Yeah…just one of the most plugged in journalists when it comes to sports in the state of Alabama. Jim Dunnaway knows his shite. I’m not saying he’s correct but at least know what you’re talking about.

Bama isn't really a better job than Oregon other than the SEC angle

Yeah just the SEC angle and also the entire history of the two programs

A little different setting..

Saban was here for 5 years and won 1 title. He has been at Alabama for 16 years with 5.

How many coaches did Alabama run through after Bear and getting lucky with Saban?

6? 7?

It’s a realistic view of the situation, not an Alabama fan’s view.

I agree. Lanning I believe is too green for this job. Oregon can't compare to this job. I'd prefer someone older who has more experience. Someone like Kiffin, Sark or Norvell.

Can you imagine the pressure the fan base is going to put in the next coach, no way a smart man leaves a good job for that.

And national titles

Who cares? Oregon has every ability to win national titles going forward that Bama does. It's a Top 10 job like Bama is.
