His legacy will be allowing a vote to kick LSU out.

When will the adults take charge?

Better be quick because we're not leary of leaving. And Sankey is opening Pandora's box if that happens.
I doubt he's got the stones to be honest.

Isn't the commissioners job to keep a unified front and now he is allowing consideration of kicking out a chartered member for not actually doing anything against league rules.

Make it make sense? I'm really confused why this guy leads the SEC conference.

If the SEC becomes an autonomous body with Sankey in charge, the league will be gone in 10 years.

There is no sense. From what we know. Unless there is a smoking gun, this is his way of dismantling the SEC

Sankey works on behalf of the universities, he isn't doing this unilaterally.

I understand blaming Sankey for this makes you all feel better and like you have a shot, he's doing this at the behest of the member institutions though. You can also stop the feel better circle jerk, this shite is already done and you guys are gone.

Counterpoint: the NCAA is dying because it can’t enforce effectively against big schools who want to credibility test

The SEC can’t allow that prodding right at the outset of the new era of conference wholesale governance.

Really

I guess you have missed the past month. Nothing LSU has done towards Sankey has given him any reason to support LSU.

Bending the knee now is a little late.

He’s establishing the conference precedent: expect a member school to ignore a state-court injunction, sue said member school in federal court in the conference’s home district, and put expulsion on the calendar as leverage all when the member school broke no league rule.

All other member schools, save the obvious one, should have a real problem with that precedent and authority being consolidated in Birmingham, AL…

Playing the victim does not really work after being the aggressor the past two months.

A lot of reasons, but i’d argue credibility deficit is the core of it.

Sankey is making a massive gut check to a major institution with a history of laughing off NCAA enforcement. And it seems to have worked.

Right! LSU fan you gotta use your brains. Do you think this vote was happening just cause Sankey wanted it to happen. Thats either naive or dumb.

Billion dollar conferences don't just announce a vote public without already knowing what the results were going to be. All other schools are in on it! They have the votes necessary to do whatever they want.

But they will give LSU a chance to stop all the lawsuits, follow the rules and do what the SEC tells them to do. If they comply the vote will fall short, if they don't they will get the votes needed.

If you think Sankey cares about teams flaunting their disregard for NCAA rules, you haven't been attention. But in this case, I still have yet to hear what NCAA rule LSU violated.

Sankeys job is to lead a bunch of nerds around telling them what to do managing the programs of elite athletes.

The nerds only know and understand what Sankey tells them. They don’t know how much Zavian Harris made ($190 gas money) for his non guaranteed contract with no signing bonus compared to Cole Hutsons per diem for multiple rookie camps. He just has a choice between explaining the nuances of the situation OR “LSU is trying to roster NFL players”

Sankey is a pencil pusher

“Aggressor”

-Didn’t file a single suit
-Coach spoke out for a rule
-Coach said he wouldn’t break league rules
-Coach kept open communication with SEC
-Coach did not roster ineligible players
-Coach filled roster ensuring said players won’t be rostered in future
-Coach never broke a single league rule

Yeah, that’s all super aggressive.

hahaha...you nailed it!

It's comical to see it happen in real time.

Last week it was F the SEC and we do what we want, now it's...we didn't break any rules, why would they kick us out.
