Technical foul on their part as nobody who payed actual attention thought that Oklahoma was being disrespected or wasn't favored ahead of that game.

That was a prime example of the appropriate moment to chant "SEC-SEC-SEC."
And remember, Kirk Herbstreit got teary eyed pushing a Michigan/ OSU rematch for the BCS title, cause it was so glaringly obvious that those were the two best teams (Michigan, I'll remind you, lost 32-18 in the Rose Bowl).
I believe this to be the point where the SEC cemented it's reputation as the very best football conference...and carried the swag that comes with it.

Great Pic! In the 1st quarter, Smith got hawked from behind by UF's DE's, I knew then this game was OVER. They simply had no answer for the D-speed UF carried into that game.

This is when I first remember hearing it. Ohio St was the greatest team of all time, just about anyway, per Herby. Florida was a double digit underdog, as I recall. The Florida fans really whooped it up after that game. The big ten has been butt hurt regarding the SEC ever since then.
Some of these national writers are rather clueless about things. I was reading one a few days ago about this S-E-C thing and the guy had no idea of what he was writing about.

those 7-8 starters didnt cause "all world QB" Trask to throw three picks in a row in the first quarter. That bowl game was over 10 minutes (game time) after it started.
Edit: PLus I've I've alwasys been told that an SEC team's second and third team could beat any team in the nation

I never cheered for other Big 8 teams and other Big XII teams. I cheer for every SEC brother. There is fraternity in this conference that our others didn’t have.
