“Fatigue, if there’s a guy on there that’s tired, here’s how we handle it: We played Oregon and Auburn and a number of teams that use the up-tempo offense, right? Here’s what happens: The guy goes like this (patting his head) when he gets tired. When the ball is stopped, he runs off the field quickly. And we put another guy on the field quickly. It just happens. As the time it takes to get on the far hash, it becomes difficult to do, don’t get me wrong. But in the ebb and flow of the game, it’s not been an issue for us.”
“The incidence of injury in football is 100 percent.” I couldn’t have said it any better myself. Miles then goes on to explain the basic procedure of how LSU substitutes players when they’re tired or winded – as do most teams – by patting the helmet.

I was wondering why LSU had no defense last year. Apparently Les has gotten more involved.

Les Miles seems to have figured out a solid way to substitute. If only he could figure out a way to not get owned by Ole Miss.

Maybe you can teach a class.
But the prerequisite would be a special teams class on when to know your out of fg range.
Im sure you would get one person to enroll.

Meh. Young team. We have adapted and changed to the times. Im not worried about our future as it pertains to todays college football climate. Les isnt either.

Well, I guess we'll always have the fact that we weren't the team having the FG return game winner replayed over and over for 2 months, so we got that going for us.

Why would that be a necessary prerequisite to not getting owned by OM?
My pet peeve.

Comes with the territory of being at the top of the college football world. Want to know how many times I saw the JFF wide open end zone pass against Bama last year?

There is no way it is that easy. Getting a player off the field takes time and a coordinated effort between the player, coach, position coach, and the substituting player. To pat your head, have the coach see it, get off the field, and get the new player on...that has to take at least 9-11 seconds.
