Posted by Message UKWildcatsFAN Les Miles has huge cojones. If TM7 got kicked out of school for grades then there is nothing that Les could have done. If he was given all summer to get his G.P.A. up then that makes a lot of sense that hes waited until now to do the press conference. Summer school has just ended.

Stupid post. He would have sat out this semester.

chool drug policies have to be followed or risk NCAA sanctions

no they dont. the NCAA has no clue who failed what test, its not reported to the NCAA. The ncaa has its own rules for failed drug tests, its up to the school to make and follow through their own rules. shite only like 5 schools tested for synthetic weed last year, LSU was one of them. If, you think some schools don't cover up their failed drug tests you are naive.

Do you think a player that tests positive at the NFL combine never tested positive for anything at their schools. The NCAA has no clue who tested positive for a school administered drug test, he doesnt have to be reported. The only time the NCAA will know of a failed test is when the school removes the player from the team.

Superb statistical analysis. Gotta love the gumps.

They didn't teach hyperbole at East Dumbschit University?

OK, since my original post, I actually polled all college football coaches and the actual percentage is 7.3%. Better?

Im hoping you're being sarcastic. Dude was a piece who didn't care about his team enough to quit smoking for a month. Any coach would kick a multiple offender off b/c the NCAA makes them

LSU has a Zero tolerance for drugs.....having said this, Miles may not have been the actual person kicking TM7 off the team but I can damn sure bet you he agreed with the decision.

Not true. LSU has a three strikes team policy. Also LSU and all other SEC teams to their own testing for their own monitoring. The NCAA does its drug testing and failure has its own set of mandatory rules. Miles cryptic statement that "We have very simple rules here and the consequences are very clear" leads most who know something of the program that he was likely alluding to the Three Strikes team rule.

I did not hear that he was kicked out of LSU as someone else said. He was kicked off the team and his scholarship was revoked.

You are only right on part of your post. The test failed was a LSU test and the rule he broke was a LSU rule. The NCAA had nothing to do with this.

------
Associated Press
MONTGOMERY, Ala. --

In the most successful league of the BCS-era, players routinely get third, fourth and even fifth chances before they're booted from the team. The finding comes from an Associated Press examination of the drug policies at 11 current members of the SEC. Vanderbilt, a private institution, declined to make its rules available.

All the SEC schools the AP looked at had far more lenient drug policies than the NCAA, though the penalties varied widely.

Just how many suspensions for recreational drug use are handed down in the SEC or any NCAA-affiliated conference is unknown because privacy rules prohibit schools from disclosing positive tests. They're not even required to tell the NCAA.

Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork, who was hired in March, is hoping to strengthen his school's policy by the middle of the summer. Currently, a second positive test at Mississippi might simply mean the loss of free tickets for family and/or community service.

A third positive requires suspension for three games or events. Subsequent violations call for three games tacked onto that, though the athletic director and head coach can dismiss the athlete or opt not to renew the scholarship.

Drug testing was briefly discussed at the SEC meetings this week in Destin, Fla. Presidents and athletic directors agree action needs to be taken and say it will be a priority at their meetings in October once they have gathered more conference-wide data.

In the meantime, schools are left to handle situations.

Athletes at Georgia and Auburn who test positive for marijuana a second time face the prospect of losing half their season to suspension.

Arkansas and Florida, by comparison, suspend athletes for 10 percent of a season for a second positive.

I agree, HB7 obviously decided to be selfish and show his arse once again. All his stupid twitter trash talk was gettin on my nerves too. That being said, he was one hell of a playmaker.

"No doubt, if Coach Meyer were still coaching, I'd still be playing for the Gators," says Jenkins, a star cornerback and a potential first-round draft pick whom Muschamp booted from UF's team after being arrested twice for possession of marijuana during the offseason. "Coach Meyer knows what it takes to win."

No he doesn't, not because of this.

How many times has he been in trouble, his third drug offense? Pretty easy decision, and one he probably didn't have to make.

Because he failed a drug test administered by the Football team and athletic dept. Did you go to college? Did you take drug tests? I did, I didn't. Regular students can smoke all the dope they want with no consequences from the school. Got it?

Untrue.

If he failed a football related drug test 3 times and was dismissed, he would not be eligible to play NCAA ball at another school. HOWEVER, if the student honor court dismissed him from school, he could play.

FYI, most schools require students turned in for smoking post in their dorm or found in possession of small amounts of pot to take a drug ed course online, attend all classes, etc. IF they get caught again, they can be suspended and with repeated violations they can be dismissed. Now if HB was not attending classes and had prior drug offenses, that could be the reason.

If you had paid attention when in college, you'd have known about the honor code all school have.

Dyer transferred. Auburn even put conditions on where he could transfer. Don't re-write history to make your tard coach look like a hardass.
