LSU had missed opportunities - primarily the fumble at goal line and the Mett belly snap fumble. Bama had missed opportunities - primarily 3 dropped INTs.
That's how it goes in football. Usually a few plays decide the game. For every break one team gets, the other team can point to a break they received. The better team won. Once Bama went up 24-17 the game was never in doubt again.

It would've been real interesting to see how Bama handled going down 14-0.
