Would be funny if State got investigated and the Hunchback gets a show cause at Florida. That my friend would be epic!

We will all point & laugh at MSU if/when they are officially under investigation for this.

For now, I’m toasting your sanctions announcement tomorrow morning. There’s literally nothing you can post that will defect from Ole Miss.

What about the 14 other level I violations? Lewis isn’t the bulk of this case. Why are Ole Miss people trying to make it out to be that way when there are a host of other violations to deal with?

good luck proving it is the person you wish it is...its know what you know its what you can prove. Also if this had any credibility they would have declared Leo ineligible in Covington most likely.

They are going to try to control the narrative right up until the committee on infractions sets it for them.

Lyin Leo he takes the money puts it down and he lies

I've heard that name for months from OM fans. What did Leo lie about?

Do OM fans think the COI will throw out the LL testimony? Ole Miss admitted to two Level 1 infractions regarding LL, including that their own coach arranged for LL to meet with a booster. A BIG no-no. Those two LL Level 1's that OM admitted to are by themselves worthy a bowl ban and the loss of several scholarships.

Would be hilarious if Mullen got hit with an out of the blue show cause, and MSU gets off with a warning.

The alleged payment to Lewis to attend Mississippi State might not be against NCAA bylaws

Complicating all this more is the fact that Green’s alleged payment to Lewis falls into a gray area. Under NCAA Bylaw 12 concerning amateurism, prospective student athletes are allowed to receive cash from non-family members or guardians if they can prove the relationship predates the athlete’s status as a prospective student athlete and that the relationship did not form because of the athlete’s current or potential status as a prospect.

If any payment was delivered after the athlete gained notoriety — as Lewis’ comments to the COI suggest it could have been, in his case — MSU would need proof that there is a history of payments and a relationship between Calvin Green and Lewis that began before Lewis’ status as a top football recruit in order to show that there was no violation of the NCAA bylaws.

Lewis also may not be in violation of NCAA rules if it determines that Calvin Green was providing Lewis with “normal and reasonable living expenses.” Bylaw 12.1.1.1.6 allows someone in Green’s position, “family of a teammate,” to give to a player like Lewis even if the relationship developed as a result of athletics as long as that person is not an agent or representing a school recruiting Lewis.

Hopefully our coaching staff didn’t help facilitate it or directly arrange it like OM’s, and if so, at least didn’t leave phone and text records of it. Merlin’s operating thetan levels were high enough to know better and will skate.
