#69 RPI as you stated in another post and single digit SEC regular season wins?

That really leaves a mark.

When you’re 0-2 vs that team in Omaha, they sure do!

Florida’s last single digit conference record was 1975 (6-11). And prior to the 1992 expansion, teams played 24 conference games and generally lost several to rain outs.
Back then they played two seven inning DH’s on Saturday and one nine inning game on Sunday.
Much different era.
Props to Florida for being consistently good in baseball over the last 50+ years. Sadly their fan base is generally indifferent to baseball which is a shame because they have missed out on some excellent baseball over the years.

Still hard to believe there were two teams worse than us this season.

My God, our pitching was so bad that year. If you wouldn't let us walk you, we'd hit your arse.

as a Vols fan you should be expert on single digit SEC win seasons - but you got it wrong - it was 2017 -

recency tells us the Vols were -

2011 - 7-23
2012 - 8-22
2013 - 8-20
2016 - 9-21
2017 - 7-21

none of those were as bad as the 4-23 SEC record posted in 1989 though -

Your team was an enigma to me this past year. I realize you all played 3-4 Freshmen most games but all of the players had talent. Pitching gave up runs and lost leads in some games but that team had talent. If everyone stays and pick up a couple of portal players, the team has potential to be scary good. Catcher (can't remember his name) is lethal at the plate but has to get better as a receiver.

Could be Omar Serna or Cade Arrambide. Both fit that description pretty well and both will be back. We just don’t have pitching depth and losing our Saturday (for the whole year) and Friday starters (for half of SEC play) derailed any hope we had. Which wasn’t much hope to begin with lol. But yes we are young with plenty of guys that I think project well if they progress. We may return our entire rotation which would help. Then just fill in the rest which would hopefully build depth.

We have been consistently good, not great for a long time. Florida has more SEC wins in history than any other school.

We are getting better at supporting them. UF fans like football games in Florida that is about it.

I don't know why but UF fans just don't get into anything else like football. And we arent' traveling 500 miles either. We are down here in the corner of the South and the SEC took the school that was closest to us off the schedule. So we are like, "frick you, I'm not driving to Missouri or Texas, when Auburn is right up the street."
