Plus we didn't have a deep underground bag network to funnel blue chip talent the way Saban and Bama did.

Yeah, there’s not many impressive coaches or philosophy. We’ve played a couple of the most special QBs to come out the SEC in recent memory. It was just another day at the office. The 2019 LSU team was just better, but that was a ballgame we were comfortable in. Bryce made a great play to escape Austin, but that was one of the weaker passing attacks we faced all season.

It sounds ridiculous but that was our reality. You could emulate Heisman QB performances with great schematics, accurate QBs, and explosive receivers. It seemed like everyone in the league at least had that formula down. You know how Sark diced yall boys up in Tuscaloosa? WRs running free with 10 yard cushions? Imagine that every week. Just a bunch of 5’11 WRs from Dallas making catches in space. If you don’t have 2 or 3 true man up corners, you’re just not going to slow it down. Reality is, 95% of schools don’t even have one.

What is your record against us ? Talk about mediocre , even the Aggies have a better win percentage,

Texas ruined the Big 12 and now they're hauling arse. Their shenanigans won't work in the SEC.

Cool rewind of the ‘08 Big12 Title Race “CFBin30” put together on YouTube. Some nice background noise if you’re at work or at the gym. LINK

In the early 2k's the Big12 was arguably the best conference top to bottom, but I'm not sad at all to leave the conference it is today. The current leadership did a good job being vultures while the PAC 12 arrogantly did zero to save their conference, but I don't see it (and the B1G) continuing to exist in their current forms for more than a few years. After some of the schools start balking at the massive travel bills I'm sure realignment will happen again and geographic sanity returns more or less...especially B1G.

Im not going to miss the big 12 at all. I hope we never schedule any of them in future schedules again.

Do y'all really believe one team can take down an entire conference?

The Big 12 was at its best when it was loaded with grudge games among some really great offensive minds. And for a while—there was a golden era for sure—it was incredible to watch. It was impossible not to watch, and if you were in the middle of it, it was thrilling as hell.
Not 13 to 10 game—sound as the defense may be—will ever haunt me as much as losing that game to Tech and Crabtree. It was just offensive minds pounding each other like heavyweight fighters round after round after round.
But all in all the B12 has been lacking for a long time. Not that it’s not good—look at strength of schedule and it’s always been between the #1 and #3 conference, top to bottom. But it wasn’t complete. And since the playoff era began it has slowly lost its edge and was melting into a middle tier conference with few major rivalries left in it. Loss of talent and loss of pageantry. The refs really were either the most corrupt, or the most incompetent, group among all the leagues. The great offense minded coaches mostly left, and the B12 leadership didn’t help itself with any of its policies in the 4 team playoff era. Round robin without a champ game, round robin with a champ game. Little real promotion of the league. It just lost all interest and was dying.
yes, it has reinvented a little but it feels more like a mid major now more than ever before.
