re: Texas is playing with SEC recruits instead of Big 12 recruits..
Posted by XOVERX on 11/27/24 at 10:20 am
Increasing difficulty in recruiting against the SEC in the State of Texas (read: A&M) was an important consideration in Texas migrating to the SEC.
After the July 2021 SEC announcement, Sarkisian IMMEDIATELY began to supercharge recruiting in SEC recruiting citadels: Florida, Louisiana, and now Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. Not to mention, of course, Texas.
Plus, Sarkisian has preserved his connections in California.
As long as Sarkisian is focused, Texas will do okay in the SEC.

The OP is exactly spot on. Texas is here in the SEC to be a good partner and make us all more money.
There’s just a couple of little things we need to get done for the benefit of all. Minor things really.
First, we need to move the league HQs to Houston. Houston is a nerve center of the world. Birmingham, not so much.
Next, we need to rotate the SEC championship game between Dallas and Houston. Atlanta has gotten a big stale.
The SEC basketball championship is going to have to move to Dallas. Thats a lot more convenient for Texas fans.
Also, since Texas has the most Omaha appearances, the SEC baseball championship series needs to be held in Austin. This is self-evident.
Lastly - and this one is really minor - the “Horns Down” thing needs to be an infraction involving a 15 yard penalty plus Texas gets an extra down.
With those small concessions, we can later discuss Texas getting three votes in all league matters.
Obviously, Texas just wants to be treated with fairness and respect. I know y’all will immediately perceive the equity of these nonnegotiable demands.

re: After Hearing Interviews Of Current A&M Players I Am Glad Schloss Is Gone

Yeah, I agree, I’m dead Schlossnagle is gone from A&M, too. Funny, he gets along really well with Texas players.
Do you know Trev Albert’s invited Schlossnagle to “look around” during the season when y’all were ranked #1?

Texas wanted to announce Pierce’s release on Tuesday but the Pierce side leaked the termination to Chip Brown who ran with the story. Who can blame Chip Brown?
So, the cat was out of the bag on Monday. Sh*t happens.
Texas wanted to get the new coach into place asap for obvious program rebuilding and stabilization reasons.
Did Texas get the deal done before Pierce was fired? I hope so. See, Schlossnagle has this person he pays called an “agent”.
No doubt, Texas felt good about having a deal in place via Schlossnagle’s agent, but until the signature is placed on the contract, minds can, and oftentimes do, change.
In this case. A&M lost a NC by one run. If aggy refuses to accept Schlossnagle gave it his best effort, that’s on them.

Dude, chill. Go get you a Replika companion or something.
Pierce’s seat was getting hot for the past two seasons. When Pierce made himself the pitching coach this year, flopped as a pitching coach, and couldn’t figure out portal, he nosedived. He gone.
Schlossnagle has been discussed as a potential replacement for Pierce all year - for most if us the #1 guy. Many thought ‘no way’, thinking he was too ensconced at CS.
Look, Texas has been dissed by many potential coaches in all sports throughout history. Sark was our #2 choice. Pierce was, like, our #7 choice. On and on.
It just so happens, happily for Texas, that there was deep alignment between Texas and Schlossnagle:
* CDC relationship
* Schlossnagle’s a city man (18 years in the Metroplex)
* liked the power structure in Austin
* liked Texas baseball history
* family never moved to B/CS
* Augie Garrido admiration
* never bought a house in B/CS (I think this is correct)
You guys really need to get over it. Until y’all win consistently in some sport and develop a blueblood history, if y’all can get over yourselves, then maybe this kind of pain won’t happen to you. A&M is a fine school and all, but y’all are not elite at any and you haven’t been elite since 1939.
Speaking of “stealing coaches”, for example, y’all screamed howdy, hooting, and hollering when you stole Franchione from Alabama - and I bet you were the entire trumpet section!
Jesus f-ing Christ, I thought there was no crying in baseball! Schlossnagle? Stop crying! It’s a done deal. You don’t like it? Then beat Texas on the field, but your whining, crying, moaning and groaning, “poor me” attitude all comes back to us Texas folks and y’all just flat-out embarrass yourselves.

Is A&M LSU’s “main rival”
Posted by XOVERX on 7/1/23 at 10:35 am
It seems to me like LSU / A&M have a pretty strong “love to hate you” relationship through the years.
If not A&M, which school do y’all think is LSU’s main rival?
