Right at the end of episode 6, on the clip of the OC getting the job upgraded of "Coach-in-Waiting", you can see Clint Trickett in the background...uh...walking slightly disrobed.

Meh, only If you're one of those that immediately associates the word "thug" as a racial slur against black people (which in itself is racist IMO). I like how he added in redneck just for safe measure though

Apparently I'm the only one on this board that liked the coach. He didn't take anything from the players, refs, or other coaches. I liked that

10 minutes in to episode 1 observations:

1. Coach is a fat POS. How can you preach discipline when you have 3 chins???? Frick you fatass!

2. "School" is a joke. Watching these "students" struggle with the English language makes me angry. They have to have goddamn subtitles when these idiots speak. And they are in COLLEGE... COLLEGE!!!!

3. DJ doesn't like class. Frick you! Leave.

4. I find myself wanting these idiots to fail. My 8 year old is smarter than these morons. She's in 2nd grade and can find her classroom without a guide.

5. Pretty sure Brittany is banging players.

A lot of people don't like class. And he almost did leave but then realized that it would be a horrible decision for him to quit. He's not the most like able guy but him leaving would have put him right back in his hometown hanging with the same fricked up friends.

You really don't understand the environment these kids are raised in. Some of them have extremely fricked up pasts and completely broken homes. They're the product of an education system that doesn't give a frick about them and are surrounded by people telling them they're going to the NFL. So how about you lighten up a little cowboy, and realize that not everyone is as brilliant as your 8 year old.

How about him begging the cop to arrest him after the fight? Should have shut his mouth and gone inside the building.

I can't put into words how badly I wanted to see him shove the officer or something and proceed to get his fat arse tased.

Agreed, if anything the show has made me more pissed at how poorly our high school education is at some parts of this country.

I agree public education in certain areas could be better, but for the most part you get out of education the effort you put into learning. You can have the best teachers in high school, but if you sit there and don't listen and don't do the work, you don't make the grades and end up at Juco or no college at all.

Everyone wants to always blame the system, but lazy people are as much or more to blame for not taking advantage of the system.

Really enjoying the show.

Brittany Wagner must have the most difficult job in college sports. It is depressing to see how these guys have no academic/study skills for even basic learning. It is obvious that their public schools passed them from grade to the grade based upon their ability to play football. She should really get out of that place and take a position at a P5 school.

Ollie played at Wayne County. The same high school former OM defensive lineman Jerrell Powe played for. It took Powe a decade to get into college. It's also the same high school associated with the academic misconduct allegations surrounding the OM investigation.

This is true but I'm talking about the shite were kids just got up and left the class because they didn't want to be in there. A few of them admitted to being able to do this in high school. There is no doubt that some personal responsibility is required and it is never solely on a school but they don't help when they allow kids to get away with stuff like that.

How quickly they give up is so frustrating to me. Any adversity and the best option in their minds is to quit. I get it you don't want to be in class but to stay eligible you HAVE to. To better your life you HAVE to. All they are really asking for is to put in effort and they will do anything to keep you on your path. It doesn't take brains or smarts to put forth effort and try. They can help you if you try and fail but they can't help you if you just quit.

I doubt players (and definitely doubt multiple players, since you used plural). Might be someone in administration or the HC. Might be no one. Something is odd about her, for sure, though. It might just be that she comes off as a bit of a cleat chaser at times. She does seem to genuinely care about those kids making the grades. That might be just for job security, but I think it is genuine.

It is odd that she's at away games and on sideline. Most people in her role don't travel with team or watch on sideline.

Yeah I wonder if they did that just for the camera's. If not does seem a bit off

So because some little lady trying to make a living let these kids walk out of class in high school the system is responsible for these kids lack of effort or scholastic knowledge? The teacher was probably glad they left so she could actually teach the kids who wanted to take advantage of their opportunity to get an education. In this world some people just don't want to put in the effort. The system is there for people willing to put in the time and effort to utilize it. It is not going to help everyone, especially those who are disruptive and don't care.

I understand many of these kids came from back grounds that let them do what they wanted with no consequences. I hate that for them and wish they had better role models or parental figures. It still ultimately rests with them to better themselves. Blame their environment if you wish, but I don't think you can blame the public school system for giving them an opportunity they refused to utilize.

If you were a FSU transfer and a former big-time high school recruit brought into a JUCO in podunk MS with the expectation of being the starting QB and immediately relegated to bench duty behind a 5 ft nothing gymrat/farmer named Wyatt, you'd probably start doubting yourself too.

I'd be salty as frick.

She appears to cross professional lines with the players knowing the cameras are rolling. It makes me wonder how much she dialed it back?
