won't be LSU, once LSU closes the southend there won't be anywhere else to expand. I am guessing that closing the southend would put LSU somewhere around 105,000?

They have recently added some field level seats in the south endzone. I don't know how many, but they look like fun seats. Imagine a player coming in for a TD heading right toward you.

Wow, 105,000...I thought the only way you got that many Gumps together was when Talladega held sister screwing day.

What has 200,000 legs and 400,000 teeth? Brian Dennahey Stadium on game day.

I think this will probably make LSU the largest SEC stadium.

I sat in the upper deck of the new end zone section and felt miles from the field. I had very poor sight lines until the blimp flew to another section. The pilot was nice though.

THere is no way UT can add any more seats, unless they cut the 6 inches they currently allot for a seat in half. And, at this point the higher-ups seem more interested in taking away seats to add luxury boxes.

My guess would UGA. They seem to have a stadium that could handle expansion, and they are already at 95,000(?)

Bryant-Denny would appear to be maxed out after this newest rennovation.

Bryant-Denny will have 101k.

UT is downsizing but I think it will still be the biggest.

I thought the expansion would make it 101,000 from what I remember.

UGA has two preliminary plans/ideas for expanding Sanford Stadium...one will wrap the 600 section (the nosebleed deck added around 2003) around the east endzone (opposite the bridge). The other will extend the 300 section, the original "upper deck" around the west end, closing off the stadium. Interestingly, the stuff I've seen has the administration leaving the bridge, and building the seats over it, so you could still stand on the bridge and see into the stadium.

If they did both, it would bring capacity to between 106,000 and 110,000 but either by itself will bring us close to 100,000.

I doubt they will close off the stadium any time soon. With 26 suites and 8500 general seating from extending the 600, I think we'll get to 102,000 and stop for a while.

LSU probably has the largest open area in which to expand. If they closed the south end zone alone, estimates are that the stadium would hold 115,000. If they eventually close both it would crazy big.

BDS will be 101,000ish when complete.

If LSU does expand who will buy all those tickets? Fans flee from bad losses!

How the frick could LSU get to 110k closing only one endzone. Is their lower bowl really that much bigger than the others'?

And actually that's not entirely true. The Swamp can add a major east stands upper bowl seating area. The main problem is that such a construction would require substantial space and supports that would have to be place around the already existing Florida Gym. They've had a plan for Swamp expansion on this side for years, but unfortunately they keep voting against this kind of construction because of the significant ticket price increase that would be necessary to afford it.
